Sadia appeared. "Cle- oh, uh... Nate? Who is this?"
Caleb glanced over. Hi Sadia.
Sadia's eyes widened. "A telepath?"
'Maybe he would understand what it's like. Boosting and telepathy are both exploited and sought out relentlessly at times...'
Nate smiled. "Caleb, this is Sadia. Sadia, this is my stepbrother, Caleb. He's still pretty much a kid-" He paused. "Uh, anyway, as you figured out, he's a telepath."
Sadia crossed her arms. "Caleb, how old are you?"
Caleb smiled, glad he had someone on his side now. '18.'
Sadia's mind began racing, highly irritated, and she gave Nate a look. "Wha-... Am I a child to you too?"
Nate smiled sheepishly. "I-uh-"
"You have to admit that you're acting like one right now," Ian teased, plopping on the couch.
"Ian, stay out of it," Sadia glared.
"Come on, Sadia," Ian said, trying to calm her down. "We're a good deal older than you, and so are the planet guardians. You and Caleb are naturally the youngsters around here."
Sadia shook her head. "That might be so, but call me a child again, and I'll-...um... You don't want to find out."
Ian smirked. "You have no idea, do you?"
"Shut up!" Sadia said.
Caleb just laughed.
Nate and Ian were both surprised, exchanging a look.
"Yes, I can laugh," Caleb said, smiling and rolling his eyes. "I'm a telepath, not a robot."
Sadia blinked in surprise. 'His voice is so- No! Snap out of it. Doesn't matter. It's just an observation, but we're moving on now.'
Caleb glanced over at her. For the record, Sadia... One, I get that reaction a lot for some reason. Two, we can't control our initial thoughts. Don't feel bad. Behind hearing that thought about my voice, there is an overwhelming roar of thoughts thinking about your boyfriend. It's clear where your affections lie to me and likely everyone else.
Sadia smiled slightly. 'Thanks. In that case, I'll tell you directly. You have a nice voice.'
Caleb smiled. Thanks.
Ian threw a pillow at Caleb, but Caleb caught it with telekinesis, glancing at it then tossing it on the couch.
"Wha- one, since when could you do that? Two, I thought you were zoned out!" Ian said.
"I've gotten pretty good at dividing my attention," Caleb replied, shrugging and sitting down.
"...so, my turn to ask questions," Sadia began. "One, does Clem know your stepbrother is in her house? Two, does Arc know Caleb exists?"
Ian and Nate exchanged a look and smiled sheepishly. "Uhh..."
"We haven't had the chance yet," Ian said, smiling innocently. "Besides, he's harmless! I think..."
"He appears to be, yeah," Sadia said, shaking her head. "Either way, you should introduce everyone to Caleb before they think he's an intruder or something. Now that I think about it... Especially Hayes. He won't react well to finding a random guy in Clem's house. I'd give Caleb three seconds max before being roasted."
"Hey, don't scare the kid!" Ian began. "...uh..."
Sadia rolled her eyes. "If I'm so young, why do you want my help with your missions?"
Nate barely stifled a laugh.
Ian paused. "...because you're good at what you do."
Ian thought to himself, 'Though there's also not many options for Plutonians in the first place, so I don't know if you're necessarily the best...'
Caleb stayed out of it, observing with Nate.
"So, my age doesn't matter then, right?" Sadia pressed.
"Ugh, if I say yes, will you stop getting mad at me for calling you a kid?" Ian said.
"No promises!" Sadia smiled.
Ian sighed. "Fine, fine... Your age doesn't matter...in most instances."
Sadia began to argue.
"That's the best you're going to get out of him," Nate advised.
Sadia sighed. "Fine. Thanks, I think?"
"Welcome," Ian said. "Alright, so... What? You suggest we just call a giant meeting for the kid to meet everyone?"
Sadia nodded. "Pretty much... Or take him to meet everyone."
"Giant meeting it is. I hate repeating myself," Ian said.
"Why are you so grouchy today?" Sadia asked, poking him.
Ian rolled his eyes. "I'm not grouchy!"
Ian had barely gotten any sleep the past week. His missions were getting pretty involved, and he was staying busy.
Nate smiled sheepishly. "So, uh... Meeting it is! Oh, Caleb, I can't wait for you to meet Amory! I'm sure she'll love you."
Caleb smiled. "I look forward to it."
