Haley and Ender (Part 2, Powers)

Haley appeared. "...hi Ender."
Ender glanced at her, rubbing his cheek. "Hi."
Haley frowned. "What happened?"
"What happened?" Ender scoffed. "You told my ex and brothers I've been a jerk to you is what happened. Thanks for that."
Haley frowned. "I... I'm sorry..."
"Do you really think that?" Ender asked.
Haley thought for a moment then took her hair down. "Yeah, I do actually. You constantly compare me to Arcadia and say you miss how things used to be. Am I that terrible that you wish I were someone else? I'm not Arcadia. I know she's better than me... Of course she is. But if you don't want me, then leave me alone."
Ender frowned. "Haley... I honestly didn't realize I was doing that. I'm sorry. The divorce hit me hard... I loved her. I know she probably doubts that I ever did, but I did. Maybe I still do a bit... And that's not fair to you. I'm sorry."
Haley frowned. "You still love her? Then why are you with me?"
"Because... I really like you. I want to move on, but it's hard. Arc was a big part of my life... And so was Chloe. And I hurt them... And now I'm hurting you - the one person who gave me a chance after everything," Ender said. "I'm sorry."
"If you got Chloe hurt, I'm not sure I want anything to do with you," Haley admitted. "I love children, and if I can't trust you with a kid, I can't see us having a future."
Ender frowned. "Haley... I made a mistake. Give me another chance... Please."
"And what if I get to that point with you and you let me down?" Haley asked. "What am I supposed to do then?"
"I..." Ender hesitated. "I don't know. Please, Haley... Give me another chance."
Haley glanced at him for a moment. "...okay. But stop comparing me to Arcadia. And talk about more than just her and Chloe with me. You could ask me about my day. You could ask me about what I've done in the 600 years since you, me, and Nate grew up together. You could try to get along with your brothers."
Ender thought for a moment then nodded. "I'll try... Thank you, Haley." He hugged her tightly. "Ar-... I mean... A second chance means everything to me. I won't let you down again."
Haley hugged back. She didn't say anything else, but she really hoped so...
