"Damn it."

"What?" Luke turned his head to Stiles who put his phone back into his pocket.

"Scott's at Derek's place. Don't know what he's doing there but he's gotta know what happened at miss Blake's class." Stiles said and dragged Luke with him towards the school's parking lot.

"I can get us there faster." The hybrid broke out of Stiles' grip.

"I'm not leaving my baby here." Stiles protested. Luke looked at him dead in the eyes.

"I don't like your car, man." Stiles' mouth fell open in shock as he gasped. He took a breath to protest but Luke interrupted him with a scrunched up nose. "When was the last time you changed the oil?" The gasping quieted very fast after that question.

"I don't know, like...like three..." Stiles stuttered.

"...years ago?" Finished Luke for him. "Yea, smells like it." Stiles huffed in annoyance.

"Jesus, fine. Let's just go." Stiles mumbled and Luke grabbed the teen's arm.

"Hey." Smiled Luke at Scott and Derek as he and Stiles appeared in what used to be a living room in the old Hale house. Stiles was behind him, knees trembling as he was doing his best not to throw up.

"I-I'm never gonna get used to that."

"So, what's this party about?" Luke asks.

"Scott wants to get a tattoo."

"Impulsive. I like it." The hybrid smirked and Derek chuckled.

"Something like this." Scott said and traced two rings into the dust on the table, the outer ring being thicker than the inner one.

"Yeah, I see it. It's two bands, right? What does it mean?" Derek asked.

"I don't know. It's just something I trace with my fingers."

"Why is this so important to you?"

"Do you know what the word 'tattoo' means?"

"To mark something." Stiles jumps in with a 'duh' tone.

"Well, that's in Tahitian. In Samoan, it means 'open wound.' I knew I wanted to get a tattoo when I turned eighteen. I always wanted one. I just decided to get it now, it makes it kind of a reward." Shrugs Scott.

"Reward for what?"

"For not calling or texting Allison all summer. Even when I really wanted to, even when it was so hard not to sometimes... I was trying to give her the space she wants. Going on four months later. It still hurts. It still feels like a, uh..." Scott looks down onto his palms.

"Like an open wound." Stiles hummed, voice more sincere now.

"Yeah." Scott nodded and Derek looked up at Luke.

"When was the last time you ate?" Luke was thrown off by it and took a moment to answer.

"Uhh...like... three days ago?" He guessed. Derek sighed.

"I told you you should eat more often."

"Man, you try ordering suspicious amounts of animal blood everyday." Luke said snarkily and threw his hands out.

"Alright, sorry. Go home then. We wouldn't want you making a snack out of Scott." Derek lifted his hand in surrender.

"I have my eyes set on a different snack." Luke smirked and Stiles with Scott let out a collective groan.

"You two are the worst. Get out of here, Dracula." Stiles pushed him towards the door. Luke rolled his eyes but did head out. When he was passing the entrance door his nose twitched as it caught a foreign scent. He stopped mid-step and turned his head to look at the door. Freshly painted. And that smell. Like a wet dog rubbed itself all over the wood. Luke turned back to Derek, a question about to roll off his tongue when he saw the look the werewolf was giving him

'Later.' It promised. Luke kept quiet.

"Shit!" Deaton heard a shout followed by a crash. He rushed to the waiting room of the clinic and saw Luke hunched over, hand covering his nose and mouth.

"Shit." Thought Deaton and slowly backed up towards one of the cabinets in the other room. As quietly as he could, he opened the cabinet and picked up one of the spare blood bags there. He went back to the waiting room and slowly crept towards Luke, who was now on the ground, forehead pressed to the floor, eyes pressed closed. Deaton pressed the blood bag against Luke's lips and the hybrid sank his fangs into it immediately. Relief spread over his face and his body visibly relaxed. Luke looked up at his father figure with gratefulness and Deaton smiled brightly, even when faced with glowing silver eyes.

"What the hell is that smell? Did you operate on all of the animals?" Luke asked when he calmed down.

"There was... a bit of an incident."

"What, did the animals commit mass suicide?" Luke asked jokingly, remembering the incident from school. Deaton's grave look wiped the smirk from his face. "You're kidding."
