(A/N, there is a tiny spicy scene! It never gets too graphic, but just a little warning ;) AND HOMOPHOBIA WARNING‼️)

"𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐲𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐥?" A soft whisper woke me up.

I grunted, my heavy eyes strained open. Cleodare tucked my hair behind my ear and gently caressed my cheek.

"Goodmorning." She smiled with a small chuckle attached. Closed mouth, adorable, warm. Just her smile could make my stomach bubble happily.

I looked over to my window, the blinds were closed. Bright, yellow sun rays poked through the gaps between the blinds. The room was lit just enough to see Cleo's face, her twinkling eyes and majestic features. I was overcome with a giddy feeling just looking at her.

"How is it?" She kept her voice low, while lightly rubbing her thumb over the wound on my neck.
The damage Gwenevieve had done was just beginning to heal, a scar entering in replace of its presence.

A tiny grunt eeped out of my mouth at her sudden cold touch.

"It's fine..." I answered, matching her volume and rubbing my tired eyes.
"Isn't that ointment you put on it supposed to help?"

"Ah...yes, the convenience store ointment," she grinned, pulling the grey jar out of her pocket, as if on cue.

Her delicate fingers twisted the lid open. Smells of eucalyptus floated out of the off-white paste. She scooped some of it onto her fingers and gently held my head up with her other hand, turning my neck to face her more clearly, softly rubbing the thick liquid onto the large scar on my neck.

My body became tense at the brushing of the tender spot.

"Are you going to school?" I watched her lips as they formed the words beautifully.

School?

I paused. "What will you do when I'm gone?"
"Sleep." She replied, amused.

"Oh,"
"Well, okay." I finished.

I could only imagine Cleodare sleeping peacefully in my bed, while I figured out how to graph a polynomial. Or whatever was going on in that class.

Essentially, I had a hot girl in my bed waiting for me, while I suffered in a corrupt school system.

Reluctantly, I went to school.

And after, when I was free from the musky smells of the hallways and school jocks, I ran back home. I ran as fast as I could. Thinking of how badly I wanted to see her.

The trees whipped past me from my speed, wind blowing against my face.
The sky turned a shade of grey, a dark cloud covering the blue. Tears began to pour from the sky, and before I knew it, it was thrashing harshly against the sidewalk.

"Hey queer girl!"
"Where are you running to?"

I barely recognized the voice from the rainfall.

Adian.

He had teased me my entire freshman year. I was surprised he still remembered me.

Raindrops spilled over my face. Quickly ducking under a tall tree, I squinted at him. He approached me, and I noticed he looked the same as he did three years ago.

The rain was cold, I shivered. My simple t-shirt not enough to cover my bare arms.

Adian met me under the tree and handed me his jacket.

"Awful big hickey you have on your neck,"
"I hope she's hot."

"Mhm," I said, blushing. Embarrassment radiated from my face.
Did it really look like a hickey?
