Are You Meeting Your Needs?

A need is defined as anything that if it were taken away from you, would leave you physically, emotionally or mentally harmed. Most people struggle to meet their needs. We spend so much time focusing on others that we neglect taking care of ourselves on a daily basis. I'm not just talking about the basic needs of food, shelter, and water. I'm talking about the added emotional and psychological needs we don't typically address.

Ask yourself - what do you need? Do you need to feel respected by your partner? Do you need to express your creativity daily? Do you need to move your body consistently or be in the sunlight?

Everyone will have a different list but the key here is to identify if and how you're meeting these needs every single day. The other important aspect of this exercise is that only you can meet your needs.

Make a list of your needs, check it twice. Ask yourself "if I didn't receive this, would I be hurt?" If the answer is yes - it's a need. Challenge yourself to fulfill it.
