You approach resolving guilt and shame in different ways. With shame, you eradicate it. You identify where you received it from and actively choose to no longer accept it. With guilt, you have to go back to the moment you disappointed yourself. Get curious about why you chose to take an action. This isn't about self-blame. It's about recognizing the factors and conditions that went into leading you to a choice you feel guilty about. When you recognize those conditions, you gain understanding and have awareness for future scenarios that may trigger those sensations again.
