During the difficult times where you can't remember who you are or where you went, it's normal to begin searching in the world for the pieces of you that have gone missing. In these times, the last thing you want to do is search the globe.
Your mind and body have the unique gift of protection. During times of distress and fear, they put the best parts of you away for safe-keeping until it's safe to come back out.
You won't find yourself in someone else. It won't matter how far and wide you go because the pieces of you that you've been looking for, have been inside you all along. You just put yourself away until later.
