The words hung in the air like a challenge.

"I kept the fast for a week because of you,"

Nandani admitted, her voice steady despite the sharp vulnerability in her eyes.

Yuvraj froze as the weight of her confession sunk in. His jaw tightened

"Why would you do something so foolish, Nandani?"

His tone was sharp, laced with both frustration and concern.

Her chin lifted defiantly.

"Because you stopped eating. You think I could sit and eat while you were punishing yourself?"

Yuvraj pinched the bridge of his nose, his composure unraveling.

"Nandani, this... this is not what I wanted. You starving yourself doesn't solve anything!"

"But it made me feel like I was sharing your burden, even if just a little,"

She replied, softer now.

There was a long pause, the tension in the room suffocating, before Yuvraj sighed heavily. He leaned back against the chair, raking a hand through his hair.

"You... are impossible,"

He muttered, though there was no anger left in his voice.

Nandani bit her lip, suddenly unsure if she'd made the right decision by telling him. Before she could apologize or defend herself further, Yuvraj straightened abruptly and gestured to the tray of food before them.

"Fine,"

He said, the corner of his mouth quirking up mischievously.

"If you went through all that trouble for me, then I won't let your effort go to waste."

He grabbed a plate, piling it with food.

She blinked.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm eating,"

He said, his mouth already full of a large bite of paratha.

"All of it. Every last bite."

"Yuvraj, you can't possibly eat all that alone!"

"Watch me,"

He said, his eyes glinting with determination.
