SHAMSHER GARH:-

The next morning, I woke to the most exquisite sight-Nandani nestled beside me, her arms wound tightly around my body, her legs entwined with mine, as if she was afraid I'd slip away. I held her close, savoring the peaceful moment. The sky outside was still cloaked in darkness, and I decided not to disturb her just yet.

It felt like thirty minutes or so had passed before I noticed her stirring. Her eyes fluttered open, and a sleepy smile spread across her lips as she glanced up at me. I couldn't help but return the smile, basking in the serenity of the moment.

"Since when were you watching me?" she asked, her voice still laced with sleep.

I chuckled softly, brushing a lock of her hair from her face.

"Since the moment I woke up."

She rolled her eyes, her expression playfully accusing.

"And how long have you been awake?"

Raising an eyebrow, I smirked.

"I don't know, maybe thirty minutes... Why the interrogation? Just hush and go back to sleep."

With a soft sigh, she tightened her embrace, burying her face into my chest. We lay there in silence, content in each other's arms. Neither of us slept; there was no need to. The quiet stillness was more rejuvenating than any slumber.

Suddenly, a thought struck me, and a mischievous grin tugged at my lips.

"Nandani, do you know that Banka's here?"

In an instant, she sat up, her sleepy demeanor gone, replaced by wide-eyed excitement.

"What? Banka's here and no one told me? How could you hide that from me?"

Before I could say another word, her small fists began thumping against my chest in frustration, though her hits were far from painful. Laughing, I caught her wrists easily, my fingers encircling her delicate hands.

"Calm down, you were injured, love. We all know how excited you get when Banka's around, so we thought it was best not to overwhelm you while you were healing."

She pouted, folding her arms across her chest like a stubborn child.

"I was fine, perfectly fine!"

I rolled my eyes, amused by her defiance.

"Fine? You were unconscious for an entire day, Nandani. You couldn't even sit up without help. How were you supposed to go and see Banka?"

Her scoff was almost comical, her lips curling in mock indignation. Sighing, I couldn't help but smile at her antics.
