(Next morning)

Sid's POV

I woke up to a video call notification from Tara at 7 am in the morning. She looked tired and I could tell the lack of sleep. There was sadness in her eyes. She wore an old t-shirt that was hanging off her shoulder. Her hair was let down, rather than the usual ponytail.

Her phone seemed to be supported against her laptop

"What are you doing?" - I asked her, rubbing sleep off my eyes.

"Taxes." - she replied.

I heard that they can be a pain. Honestly, I didn't have to worry about that since my dad took care of that for both me and Dev.

"Regarding yesterday, I have some screwups at work and last week was messy and long trying to clear and sort everything out. I thought I had messaged you. I'm sorry " - She explained, getting straight to the point and the reason why she had called.

"I'm sorry too. I accidentally deleted your messages since my storage was full."

Her face had an expression of 'Oh.'

I guess she finished filing her taxes since I felt her eyes on me. Full attention on me, leaving me slightly nervous.

"so, about us?" - she broached the topic.

I remember my words last night -' I am honestly closer to calling off our marriage'.

" I don't know what to say." - I replied honestly, not sure if I can get used to her working lifestyle.

"I honestly don't mind you calling off our marriage. This is going to be my life. As much as I will try and accommodate you in my life, you are not going to be my first priority. I might sound selfish saying that this, but - I am my first priority. And I don't want to be yours either. You are just going to be one of the very many planets in my galaxy. I need every other planet like my family, my work, or my friends. And I need some more than others. If you think that this won't work for you, we can call off this marriage. If that's what you really want. I can explain it to your parents" - she offered
