YG Entertainment Speaks On BLACKPINK's Julie Current State

January 4, 2020

It seems like BLACKPINK's youngest member did not enter 2020 with the right foot.

Recently, a video taken by a fan of the group performing 'As If It's Your Last' in Tokyo Dome for their world tour went viral between netizens. Mainly, the last minute of it, where it can be seen Julie visibly struggling with pain on her leg suddenly after bending down to execute the choreography for the bridge of the song.

She winced, still with the mic on her mouth, and the fans could hear her whimper because of the pain

She winced, still with the mic on her mouth, and the fans could hear her whimper because of the pain. She tried to get up but couldn't and, after singing her part, fellow member Rosé crouched down to check and helped her be dragged out of stage while the other members continued to perform the rest of the song, with visibly worried expressions.

The occurrence happened on January 2nd and BLINKs were expecting the artist, her members or the company to clear up the situation, since everyone was worried

The occurrence happened on January 2nd and BLINKs were expecting the artist, her members or the company to clear up the situation, since everyone was worried.

"Hello, this is YG Entertainment.

During one of our shows, our artist Julie from BLACKPINK got injured and needed to be taken out of stage with urgency. After going through many appointments, x-rays and MRI, it is confirmed that Julie has suffered a complete torn ligament in her left knee and has already undergone surgery.

She will not be attending BLACKPINK's concerts in Kyocera Dome, nor their last show of the tour in Fukuoka and we announce she will be on hiatus for six to nine months, until fully recovery."

Julie herself posted a message on her Instagram story today, confirming she was okay and did not want BLINKs to worry as she was being taken good care by the doctors, her family and members, and thanking her fans for trending the hashtag #GetWellSoonJulie.
