When the three arrived at Lucy's apartment, Lucy got out of the car and said goodbye to Theo, Tim got out with her and brought her to the door
"It was actually really nice, but I have the feeling that Theo doesn't really like me" Lucy said
"Lucy I know it seems like it, I actually don't know why but i'm sure it's not because of you. I think something at school happened cause this morning he was quite different." He said looking at his car to Theo
"Maybe you're right and he'll be different next time" said Lucy, looks at Tim and then kisses him "Bye see you tomorrow"
"See you tomorrow" Tim smiled walking to his car and gets in
Tim and Theo drive back home without really speaking to each other because Theo is only on his phone
Tim gets out of the car and looks over at his son "Theo did something happened at school? you were really very dismissive of Lucy today." He asked him
"Dad no nothing happened, maybe I was just tired. Besides, just because you like Lucy doesn't mean I have to like her too." said Theo and walks towards the front door
"I never said that Theo but maybe next time you could be a bit nicer, she did nothing wrong." answered Tim and opens the door and goes towards the kitchen, Theo follows his dad and asks him for the money again
"Why did you actually borrow so much money from someone instead of asking me?" Tim asked Theo and gave him a skeptical look
"It wasn't 40$ all at once, but a few dollars several times. I just forgot to ask you and when I was at school i needed it." Theo answered
"Okay i'll give you it but next time i want you to ask me for the money and not some people from your school, okay?!"
"Thanks dad" Theo took the money and went to his room, he took his phone out and saw a message from Nick "Bradford I need 70$ tomorrow. See you then with the money" Nick texted Theo
Theo was shocked, how should he get another 30$ he thought
Theo went out of his room and looked where his dad was, he was in the living room on his phone. He took the chance and walked to Tim's bedroom, he looked for his dad wallet but there was no money in it. "What i am supposed to do?" He said quiet to himself
Next Morning
Theo woke up and went towards the kitchen, he saw his dad who was already having breakfast
"Good morning my son, can you finish in 20 minutes?" Tim asked his son
"Dad i'll take the bus today cause the first class got canceled so i can ride with Fynn and Noah." Theo said and takes out a bowl to make cornflakes
"Okay that's good so I can be at work a little earlier. fancy lasagna tonight with lucy?" Tim asked Theo
"we were out with lucy just yesterday? I'm with Fynn and Noah after school so I can't be there before 6 pm." He said
"I just thought it would be good if you guys could get to know each other better, Theo she doesn't have to be your best friend but you should get along with her." said Tim and went towards the door. "See you later Theo, take care." He walked to his car and drove to work
While Theo just goes back to bed, Tim arrives at the police station. He gets out of his car and walks across the parking lot and sees Lucy walking towards him
"Good morning, Theo won't make it until 6 p.m. so that we have some time to ourselves until then." Tim said with a smirk on his face
"Sounds good" Lucy said and smiled at him
the two went in to get ready and then went on patrol. Tim with his Rookie and Lucy with Jackson.
Jackson is so far the only one who knows that Tim and Lucy are together, that's good for Lucy so she have someone to talk to.
"So yesterday me, Tim and Theo were in the park and Theo was so dismissive to me. I have the feeling he doesn't really like me but i don't know why? I know it was the first real meeting and that it's sometimes weird, but it wasn't weird or something , it came across as if he was just really annoyed by me." Lucy told Jackson in a very uncertain voice
Jackson could sense that Lucy was very unsettled
"So at first he's Bradford's son maybe that's why" Jackson laughed "But I can understand that it must be a really strange feeling, especially because you've been looking forward to getting to know Theo properly, but it must also be difficult for him after a long time to let a new person into his life, who is an important role in his dad's life." Jackson tried to explain Lucy "I'm sure it will be good soon just give him the time he needs he has to process it all first"
"I don't want him to get less attention from Tim because of me, he is and always will be in the first place but somehow we have to get along with each other." Lucy said
"I know Lucy, but he has to understand it first. Just give him the time he needs"
At Bradford's House
a few hours after Theo went back to his bed he woke up and got ready but not to go to school. He took a shower and then gets dressed, he leaves the house where Noah is already waiting for him
"What's up Theo?! I heard you have to give Nick the money? I'm really mad at Carl he did this before with me." Noah said to Theo while the two walk towards the bus stop
"Yeah it's annoying cause my dad gave me 40$ like Nick told me but yesterday he texted me he wants 70$ and I obviously don't have that much" Theo explained Noah looking at his phone and showed him Nicks message
"Oh shit Bro you know I would give you the money but I have nothing I had to give it all to my mother because I broke her vase." He laughed
"I don't know what to do I can't ask my dad again for money he would become skeptical, which he was yesterday." Theo stopped talking when the bus came when they got in he saw Nick. "Shit Noah Nick is there we have to sit in the front" Theo told Noah
"Bradford you here? You were not at school today and i waited for you and you know why so??" Theo heard Nick yell that through the bus he didn't know what to do because he didn't have all the money
"Look Nick i only have 40$ right now i forgot my wallet at Fynn's house so tomorrow i can give you the other 30$. Also why do you need that much i thought it was only 40$" Theo tried to explain it to Nick but he didn't care "I told you I need the money today, so I want it now! When I say 70$ then it's 70$ not that hard to understand. You Noah do you have money?" Nick asked Noah
"No i don't have anything Nick please it's just one day tomorrow you will have your money." He looked at Nick with fear in his eyes
Maybe Carl is cool with Nick but the other boys no, they hate Nick and Nick hates them and he shows that in every situation he can
Theo tried to stall Nick until the next stop so he could run out with Noah. The two were sitting right by the front door and Nick wasn't standing directly in front of them, so they had plenty of room to get away
Theo whispered to Noah "We'll leave at the next stop, you just have to run then" Noah looked scared he was sure that they will not make it
The bus stopped at the bus stop and Theo turned around. "Wtf what's happening there," he said, startled. Nick turned around and the two boys took their chance Noah and Theo ran out of the bus.
"You looser" Theo yelled at Nick
Nick tried to get out of the bus but the door closed in front of his face, he yelled something but Theo didn't hear it
"Theo you are crazy you gonna die soon he will kill you" Noah said and laughed "I know" was the only thing Theo replied because he know this will not end well.
"Okay Noah let's go get some drinks, do you wanna hang out at my house later?" Theo asked Noah still in shock because of the bus situation
"Sure why not let's get pizza" Noah said
