Decim was in first period when his phone rang, he went to hit the button to silence the phone only to see "Maven💚" on his screen. She never called him, said she felt weird on the phone. Knowing something was off he answered and ignored the teacher as he stepped out and answered only to hear "Decim- it happened-AGHHHHH- fuck I'm on the beach-" she gasped " I'm sorry I'm sorry I want to hear you before I die please" Deciem spoke after he swallowed the lump growing in his throat

" I'll miss you ok? You'll be missed I love you Mave, no matter what I won't forget you ok?" She screamed "Ok ok-"

"How was the sunset Mave"he asked needing to take her mind off it. She should be alone.

Tears filled his eyes and he muffled a cry waiting for her answer. He ignored Jackson and they as they walked up smirking.

" Beautiful- so pretty you should've seen it. My alarm - it didn't go off- I saw the green flash too. It was so beautiful- my phone code is 1647 please look at the photos I took.-" she gasped for breath as it sounded she was having issues breathing.

" Mave it's ok, I promise I promise it's ok." She sobbed "t-tell me I can go please... when I'm almost there?" He heard her struggled for the little air she could get and he said in a hurried tone " Of course. I'm so glad you were my best friend, when I have ice cream I promise I get you some fuckin gummy bears-" she hissed a breath " It's time Deciem".

He was choked and said " It's ok Mave, you can go now. It's your time it seems, find me in the next life?" With everything she could she said " K-". For a second he couldn't breathe,

His fangs pierced his lower lip but he felt nothing but a slow trickle of blood.

He was running to the doors in that moment and hit it with his body weight before rushing out of the building to the shaded walk ways. Powers didn't work on school grounds but he ran so fast it looked like it.

Down hallways and corridors he saw the werewolf building and ran through it towards the exit. When someone saw his goal they moved to stop him. " HEY SOMEONE CATCH HIM-" he burst through the doors skin screaming as it burned. He didn't feel it.

Not then.

He saw his car, the drivers side,

"She'll never sit next to me again"

His legs wobbled but he didn't notice, not the kids trying to catch him.

He yanked the door open and started the car before stomping on the gas and heading for the beach near her house.

It was the longest drive ever. His feet were moving over the board walk in a blur and he felt the wind get knocked out him when he saw her clothes on the ground.

He couldn't breathe again

Agonizing pain seared his everything and before he was aware of anything else it stopped.

Which made him cry more.

It hadn't stopped for Mave, sweet Mave had burned and no one helped her. No one saved her why should he be saved. He had nothing without her. His only family was gone.
