Mario and Peach crouch next to the pipe as Peach looks over a blueprint and Mario searches through his toolbox.

Peach: ".......So......it's just a problem with getting all the parts needed, right?"

Mario: "And with getting them all connected AND with making sure they're all good....unlike many of the ones that were on the pipe before..."

Peach: "And with getting them all.....connected.........."

Peach rolls up the blueprint and leans in a bit as she looks inside with her eyes narrowed.

Peach: "Well, Mushroom Academy may be able to teach you everything you need to know about pipes-"

She then leans back before turning to face him.

Peach: "-but giving you the parts to build said pipe is a whole other thing entirely!"

Mario: "You're telling me......"

Peach stares at him with a sympathetic look on her face. She then turns back to the pipe and flicks

Peach: "Have you tried.......taking pieces off of other broken pipes?"

Mario holds up a box of broken pipe pieces with an eyebrow raised.

Peach sighs and glances inside again.

She sees the missing pieces, the wooden replacements, the bricks just barely shoved in.....and thinks.

Peach: "......You really tried to get this working by yourself......huh?"

Mario: "Heh, yeah, yeah I did......

Peach: "Hey........Mario?"

Mario: "Yes?"

Peach: "............I get it being a surprise......but you weren't trying to rebuild it alone because of your pride........were you?"

Mario: "...........eeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhh..."

Peach glares at him.

Peach: "You were weren't you?"

Mario: "NO, I JUST-"

Peach: "Volume!"

Mario groans.

Mario: "No, I just.............I..........wanted to fix my mistake.....is all......I feel like since I made it.....I should be the one to.....to set set everything right, you know?"

Peach: "......You know Luigi feels bad that he tripped into the pipe in the first place, right?"

Mario: "I know, but Luigi wasn't the one who led Magikoopa here and inadvertently caused the pipe to get destroyed...."

Peach: "Yeah, that was on you...."

Peach looks up to see Mario glaring at her.

Peach: "Sorry! Sorry, didn't mean for it to come out like that......"

Mario stares blankly for a few moments before sighing and leaning his back against the pipe's exterior.

Mario: "But you're right.....I did mess everything up...."

Peach leans against the pipe's exterior as well while looking at Mario.

Peach: "You still fixed everything in the end though! You helped end a war that was going on for so long, it was happening before I was born!"

Mario: "Yeah, but..........I still caused us to get stuck here and.......and I feel like we could've found another solution if we just waited a bit and......me and Luigi could've been home by now...."
