A/N: Not important but I was listening to i haunt ur dreams by hey, nothing. It's such a song :)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Alexis eyes fluttered open, her ears immediately catching the sound of the waterfall to her right. In front of her was a cliff with a black iron fence separating them. Behind her, she could here muffled talking coming from within Donna's  estate. Alexis turned and walked onto the porch, trying to hear whatever they were saying. These dreams, if they really were dreams, something would always be happening.

She had stopped trying to talk to anyone. Even if she did, they always seemed to forget her. At least, that's what she gathered when she tried with Lex the first couple of times. Besides, is was better to just listen whatever they were talking about.

''Lex, talk to me, please. You've been like this ever since the funeral.'' she managed to hear Donna plead. This was a first, usually these dreams only ever showed Lex happy with a brand new family. Never once was there ever mention of a funeral. She couldn't help but wonder who had died.

''Donna, can we not do this right now? I'm tired.'' she heard Lex say. She did sound tired, exhausted really. Alexis leaned against one of the wall beside a open window so she could hear better, she even stole a peek inside. Donna was clinging to Angie, who remained unusually quiet. Lex's eyes looked a little red and slightly puffy like she had been crying.

''No Lex, we have to talk about this. You haven't been eating and you haven't been sleeping, please, just talk to me. You know you can tell me anything, right?'' the Dollmaker tried to reach out for her wife, but she just took a small step away. Donna's hand retracted. ''You know it's not your fault, right? You're not the only one hurting, I miss Onyx too.''

Alexis brow furrowed. What happened to Onyx? Based off of all her dreams, Lex loved that kid like her own.

''You're wrong, Donna. It is my fault. Onyx is dead because of me; because I came back! I wasn't fast enough and he's!...'' tears spilled from Lex eyes, looking like she was about to crumble into a pathetic ball on the floor. ''I should have stayed away, you and him were doing fine until I came back. I should have stayed away. I should have...''

Angie just stared between Donna and Lex like a kid caught up in a divorce. Donna shook her head, trying to fight tears and failing miserably. ''Cara mia, you don't mean that.''

Lex didn't say anything and just stared at Donna, her lip quivering. The Dollmaker's eye widened, realizing that Lex really did mean what she said. Angie tried to comfort Donna, wrapping her arms around her bicep as Donna's chest heaved, trying not to break down. ''I bring death to everyone I love. First it was Alexis and Onyx. Who will be next? You? Lexa?''

Alexis lips parted slightly when she heard her name. She was dead? What the hell was going on?

''Donna, you know this isn't just about me. It's about you and Lexa. She doesn't deserve to grow up in a family like this.'' Lex said with a shaky breath.

Donna's gaze fell to the floor, biting her lip as if to distract herself. ''So, what do we do?''

''I think it's best if we divorce.'' Alexis's eyes widened at her sister's words. Donna's head immediately shot up, as if she couldn't believe what she had just suggested. ''It's not fair to Lexa. To grow up in a household like this. I do love you, my flower. This just isn't going to work at the rate we're going.''

''Can I at least hug you?'' Donna whispered. Lex only nodded, opening her arms. Donna immediately buried her head into Lex's shoulder, hiding herself from the world as she sobbed. A few more tears rolled down Lex's cheek as her eyes fluttered shut.
