CELES' POV

"As you know, it is impossible for any Altrean to wield my power and Celes' power. However, this wouldn't be the case if we take someone who isn't Altrean", Abrial started

After returning, we quickly gathered to discuss how to restore Altrea to its former glory.

"Are you suggesting that we use a person from earth Abrial? ", Reve asked.

She nodded.

I pondered in the thought of an earthling using the power of us gods.

"We don't have much time. The war is becoming much worse every second we waste. We must act now." - Abrial.

"Isn't it too much of a risk?" - Lustre

"It is. But what choice do we have?" -Aqui

"Maybe there's another way..." - Igni

A number of woes and worries enveloped the throne room. Each god had their own opinions in the matter.

However, one thing is clear.

We must make a choice.

"Silence!"

All pair of eyes focused on me.

I sighed.

"That is enough. We'll do what Abrial suggested. We have no time to spare and as unfortuante as it sounds. We can only rely on the strength of an outsider to save Altrea. This is our priority? Is it not?", I asked in a stern and strict voice.

"Yes, leader!", they all chorused.

I nodded to Abrial.

"See to it that your chosen vessel arrives before dawn tomorrow. I take it that you chose her for a reason. I trust you."

She nodded.

"She's gonna be perfect."

She hurriedly ran outside of the throne room. I waved my hand to her in farewell and looked at the other gods faces.

They all looked solemn. But hopeful.

And I guess this is what we need most right now.

Hope.

_________

Anisha's POV (Back in the present time)

"You were married?!", I asked Celes in horror.

He really doesn't look like the loving husband type. More like the bratty spoiled kid type.

He chuckled.

Damn brat god. Why does he look so good when he laughs?

"You really aught to have a filter. Of course, I was quite the good husband you know", he said filled with pride.

I laughed.

Seeing that he described his wife, it seemed legit.

"Did I see her? You know during the magic awakening ceremony, was she there?"

A hint of sadness flashed by his eyes and he turned his back?

"Umm... did I say something wrong?"

He abruptly faced me again. A smile now plastered on his face.

Well that's a fake smile if I ever seen one.

"No, she wasn't.", he answered nonchalantly.

Well, that's weird.

For someone who speaks about his wife full of love and adoration, that seems awfully odd.

Maybe they broke up?

Maybe his wife has a new lover?

Or maybe she was busy elsewhere.

But where would she be if she wasn't here?

My brows furrowed in confusion.

Upon seeing my face Celes sighed.

"You don't need to concern yourself too much with her.", he said.

"And why is that Mr. Brat God?", I asked.

He spoke in the most stoic voice.

Which was honestly quite frightening.

"She's dead."
