Aunt Jill had flagged a taxi for the two to hitch a ride in, and the ride was vacant with silence between the two. She occasionally popped a question about living with the Scrubbs and about the Pevensies, and was particularly inquisitive about Edmund's companionship with the girl. Charlotte kept her responses vague, hesitant to warm up to her. After what felt like a full voyage on the Dawn Treader for weeks in Narnia, Charlotte was finally curious to enquire about their destination.

"So where're we heading?"

Aunt Jill paused, as the taxi halted right before a park. "Somewhere I've never been able to visit for a very long time..."

They alighted and strolled past the bushes, flowers, and trees. Then, Aunt Jill halted in her tracks, her gaze fixated on a vacancy amidst the bushes. Charlotte examined her surroundings, eventually following suit. She followed her aunt's gaze, wondering why they simply stared at an empty segment of land among the bushes.

"So what kind of adventures did you have?"

"Oh, we... We just played with silly imaginations, pretending to embark on a voyage at sea..." Charlotte cleared her throat, playing it off as a story. "Braving through storms, breaking curses..."

"You were in Narnia, weren't you?"

Charlotte was taken aback by her abrupt query. She sent a sideway glance at her guardian, as she cautiously confirmed her suspicions. "Y—yeah."

"Together with your friends?"

"Yeah..." Charlotte shared slowly, sceptical of her aunt's rising receptiveness to the place. "Lucy and Edmund 'ave been there before, with their older siblings. They were also Kings and Queens during their reign. It was Eustace's first time there, though."

"Also?" Her aunt caught on to her words. "So you must've been Queen too. What was your given title?"

"Oh, I was crowed the Selfless Queen."

"Oh, I see it," her guardian nodded in agreement, "was the White Witch still there?"

"She was long gone before I entered Narnia," Charlotte shared, "the Pevensies had already ended her hundred-year winter by then."

"Oh," a subtle sigh of relief escaped her lips, sending Charlotte into a perplexed state, "so I'm guessing you would've learned a thing or two about me?"

"You were Queen Jillian, the Tenacious, tasked to guard the Tree of Protection, but was prophesied to unleash a certain darkness into Narnia," Charlotte recapitulated with a nod, "and you sought a way out of it, but followed a dark path. You were banished afterwards..."

"Does that answer all of your questions?"

"N—not all of them," Charlotte shook her head, "I can't fathom why Mom left you out of her stories. She only ever told me of her reign with Dad..."

"I don't blame her," the lady sighed, "our sisterhood turned sour then. I imagine she wouldn't have wanted you associated with a traitor like me."
