Dear reader,

If you've reached the end, no words can ever express my gratitude. Amidst the sea of creative Narnian fanfictions with unique protagonists and sophisticated plots, you made the time and decision to give Charlotte Baker's story a chance (or simp over Edmund Pevensie, we all know he's the real star of the story, most likely being one of the reasons you even clicked on the fanfic 😭💀). Thank you for taking time to read both The Offspring and Floating. This whole adventure is filled with long chapters that can be quite time-consuming, and I'm glad that you pursued this and stayed throughout (because not only is it commendable for writers to finish their books, but also for readers to finish reading books from their reading lists) 🥹🩵

Special thanks to...

You're one of the earliest memorable supporters since I was working on the first book, and one of the few who stuck around beyond the first book until the end of this book at the time of writing it. I'm super grateful because your support kept me going with this plot!!! I had a major confidence boost whenever you pointed out pieces of my writing with positive feedback, shared your thoughts on the characters, and reacted to the comedy bits 🥹 I also absolutely adore the support and dedication we've shown for each other's books 🥹 (if any readers would like to read more Edmund Pevensie fanfics, this writer does a splendid job handling the Enemies to Lovers trope for her Edmund fanfic Nemesis and the slowburn progression is impeccable 🔥)

Your mountain's worth of comments took me by surprise when you came on board! I was always so entertained seeing your enthusiasm to read the latest chapters after my announcements 😭 You don't know how thrilled I was that this journey got you so invested and I really appreciate your comments on every chapter which told me that you really hung on every word 🥺 (to other readers, she's got an original book — and ongoing sequel — that got me so attached to her characters, and some Marvel fanfictions too if anyone wants to check them out!)

I was amazed when I saw you commenting again at earlier parts of The Offspring when I was still writing this book, which got me thinking "wait, this reader is rereading?!" I can't emphasise how honoured I was to know that you enjoyed it so much to read it twice and grow attached to the character. I also totally appreciated reading your paragraphic thoughts on Charlotte's plot, Edmund's portrayal, and their relationship portrayal because I did put much thought into these areas in my little head and I was overjoyed that you acknowledged these products of my thought process 🥹🩵 (For the anime/manga lovers who watch Haikyu on Netflix, this writer's got a super adorable Kenma Kozume fanfic that got me rooting for the protagonist and him so much, I'm a sucker for skinny love 😭)

I loved your questions that gave me lots of food for thought! I was intentionally vague about timelines, and avoiding the inconsistent complexities of time differences, and basically leveraged on the characters looking older than they are supposed to be in the films 💀 Your comments instigated plot revisions along the way, which gave me more ideas and directions to experiment with in writing. You're literally a contributor to what everyone came to read in the final cut, and I really thank you for paving the way to more creativity in my head! I initially looked at my plots as "good enough", and then refined it into plots that seemed "new and improved". I am super grateful for your support and am honoured that you enjoyed reading these two books 🥹🩵 (this writer's got an abundance of stories from many fandoms — HTTYD, Marvel, Disney, Narnia, and lots more if anyone wants to check them out!)

Thank you for your consistent votes and affirmations! Your affirmations and encouragement on my message board kept me dedicated to finishing Charlotte's journey. Your assurance definitely motivated me on the days when I was critical of my plot directions 🥹. It also made me feel honoured to create a story that you enjoyed so much and also invoked sentimental feelings around its approaching ending 😭🩵

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and affirming my writing skills! I'm so honoured to be called one of your favourite authors. Your comments gave me a real confidence boost in my storytelling techniques and plotting (truthfully, as a non-English Lit major, I relied heavily on Instagram posts by writing accounts for crash courses on plotting, tropes, storytelling, romance progression, and vocabulary). So to read your comments with such positive feedback, when I'm not an erudite author, really made my day 🥹🩵

Those who vote consistently
I see you, I notice your usernames! You might be shy to share your thoughts, but know that I greatly appreciate you for tapping on that star in every chapter! Thank you for all your votes, it warmed my heart to see a vote from you on every chapter, as it sufficed in letting me know that you enjoyed reading from the beginning to the end, and I'm honoured to have written these books that appealed to you 🥹🩵

Now, moving on to my self-affirmations and reflections, I really applaud my efforts on finishing Charlotte Baker's whole adventure. Most of the time, it's extremely challenging for writers to complete a book. Throughout writing Charlotte's story, I've seen many readers come and go, who were also writers that left their books unfinished or even deleted them. So to actually be able to complete a book is already an accomplishment (and rest assured, I'm never deleting these books so we can always come back for a reread and relive the adventure 🥹)

There were definitely some days where I lost confidence in the work I created and became overly critical of myself. Then again, when I shifted my focus to Charlotte's overall journey, it's really quite alright. I also reminded myself that the reason I even chose to publish these books was because I saw potential in these ideas and thought they were worth sharing with the community. Also, seeing that there are readers who shared these thoughts are sufficient affirmations to me. Even when I wasn't taking this adventure as seriously in the beginning, there were already some commendable segments like Charlotte's heritage in Narnia despite being an Earthling, and the rescue meet-cute (I'm still in love with it because she was immediately introduced to his fierce, protective side 💀). But it's interesting to see the evolution of my writing style over the years (The Offspring walked so Floating could sprint in my opinion). 🥹🩵

Also, I hadn't realised how attached I'd grown to Charlotte until I thought about the fact that I won't be unfolding any more of her adventure. While working on my thesis and listening to The Call, I was immersed in the farewell vibes and it hit me like "oh, oh... No more writing about Edmund and Charlotte..." The emotions around this termination are so real. I honestly don't know if I'll grow this attached to OCs in my future books, but I think I'll have a soft spot for Charlotte because I journeyed through two books with her (throughout the whole duration of my university education 💀). Who knows, Edmund may always return for another Narnia fanfiction adventure in my little head (there're already some Golden Age visions actually that aren't tied to this fanfiction, but I don't know if it will be fully fleshed out at this juncture), but Charlotte wouldn't return, and that's why I'll miss her 😭

That's pretty much all the acknowledgements I wanted to put out. There're a few more extras I'd like to share before fully closing this book and moving on. Of course, those who're interested to know more are welcome to stay tuned. If the adventure has ended for you, thank you for your time 🥹🩵

Lots of Love,
DisneyxLovey
