Y/n was an ordinary girl. She had friends, loved to hang out, and enjoyed the usual activities that kids her age enjoyed. But little did she know that a world of special potential lay dormant inside her, waiting to be discovered.

The realization began with a chance encounter with a college professor, Dr. Anderson, at a local community gathering. Dr. Anderson had an uncanny ability to recognize intelligence in people, even those who may not realize it themselves.

As he struck up a conversation with Y/n, he asked her a few questions, and took a mental note of what she answered. And at the end of it all, he realized that Y/n was a child genius.

So, he immediately called her mum and scheduled a meeting to tell her the news.

Taylor had always thought Y/n was smart, but it never crossed her mind that she might be a child genius. She looked to Dr. Anderson, intrigued by what he had to say.

"Miss Swift, I believe your daughter Y/n is gifted. Her aptitude for learning and problem-solving is far beyond her age," he said.

Taylor was taken aback. She had never considered that her daughter might possess such remarkable abilities. She had always seen Y/n as a regular teenager, albeit a bright one.

"Are you sure, Dr. Anderson? I mean, Y/n is smart and all, but gifted? She doesn't seem like it." Taylor responded, her curiosity growing.

"That's precisely what makes her so unique," Dr. Anderson explained. "Often, child prodigies are consumed by books and intellectual pursuits, but Y/n seems to have found a balance between her intelligence and social life. She's an exceptional case."

Doubt and surprise clouded Taylor's face as she listened to Dr. Anderson's words. She wondered how she had missed such an important aspect of her daughter's life.

"Miss Swift, I sincerely believe Y/n has the potential to excel academically and contribute greatly to society. With the right guidance and educational opportunities, she could even skip traditional schooling and pursue college at her age," he suggested.

The mere thought of Y/n skipping school and heading to college at her age sent shivers down Taylor's spine. It was an immense decision to make, one that she couldn't take lightly. She needed time to come to terms with the fact that her daughter might be capable of achieving greatness beyond her wildest dreams.

Later that evening, Taylor sat down with Y/n, Joe by her side. With a mixture of excitement and trepidation, she shared the conversation she had with Dr. Anderson.

They were all eating dinner, spaghetti bolognese to be exact.

"So, Y/n," Taylor started, twisting some spaghetti on her fork. "I had a little chat with Dr Anderson today."

"That old guy at the community center? Why?" Y/n chuckled, putting a forkful of spaghetti in her mouth.

"He told me that he thinks you're ready to go to college." Taylor said casually, as if this was an everyday occurrence.

Y/n's eyes widened and she started chocking on her spaghetti.

"Oh shit" Joe said, and quickly got up around the table to started patting her back to try stop the coughing, but Y/n put her hands up and shook her head.

"I'm alrigh-" She was interrupted by another cough, but Taylor handed her the cup of water and she drank the whole glass in one go.

She then put the drink back, pat her chest, and sighed heavily, just taking in what had happened.
