Takot ka bang masabihan na "cringey" ang mga isinusulat mo?
Don't be. Why would you? Cringe is actually a superpower. Why? Have you asked yourself if everyone has the courage to be perceived as cringe? Hindi. Hindi naman talaga. Hindi lahat may courage na i-expose in public arts nila. Kahit nga hindi pagsusulat 'yan, still hindi lahat ng tao may courage i-expose 'yong sarili nila. May fear of exposure. Takot ma-judge ang mga tao.
Besides, when someone says that your writing is "cringey," you don't have to take it personally. It's not about you, it's about them: it reflects their inner world. Afterall, valid na ma-feel nila 'yon, it's their reading experience kasi. But just because it is cringey for someone, magiging cringey na rin ba sa lahat? No. Every reader has different reading experience.
And I think normal din makaramdam ng cringe sa mga binabasa, even you from your own works. It just means you have outgrown something in the past. Change of perception is normal as we grow old.
Embracing the idea of "cringe is superpower" lets you nurture the artist within you so you better focus your attention within. It's your creativity. What should matter the most is how you view your work.
Don't let the idea of being perceived as cringe stops you from creating your art. No matter what other people think about you and yout works, always focus on bringing that light and boldly share your creativity to the world.
