Para nga namang binabalatan ka nang buhay when you expose your work in public and then anyone can comment about it, anytime. Nakakapraning. There's this pressure na dapat perfect na agad tayo sa pagsusulat. I get you, pero sino nagsabi n'on?
It's good that you have the desire to improve your draft, but I don't think you need to be ashamed of it. If you think about it, kahit magulo pa 'yan, kahit marami pa 'yang plotholes, makukumpleto mo ba ang first draft mo kung wala 'yang mga 'yan? No. Besides, 'yan ang mga creative insight na na-access mo that time, sinamahan ka nila to complete your draft. That's why I believe you have to be grateful instead of letting shame consumes you. Part din ang mga 'yan ng creative process mo. And, if you think about it again, hindi naman lahat ng writers umaabot sa dulo para makatapos ng kuwento. Some don't have the courage to write imperfectly. While you, despite knowing your draft's imperfection, still, you persisted in completing it. And you did it, sinamahan mo sarili mo! Now what? It's time to be grateful for the messy parts! Afterall, writing, no matter how messy it is, is writing— an art! Exclusive lang ba ang 'art' sa magaganda?
Sa editing stage, magagamit mo rin naman 'yang mga 'yan, it's either through improving it by giving them a purpose or pag-store na lang sa creative bank mo, so that magagamit mo pa rin mga 'yon sa another story. In your creative process, every step has a purpose. Always remember to celebrate your first draft and embrace everything about it. Huwag kang makinig sa mga discouragement, aim to finish your draft no matter what. A time for drafting is a time for drafting. You don't have to rush your growth. As long as alam mong may pake ka naman sa development ng story mo, you don't need to be ashamed of your messy draft. Be proud of it— nakatapos ka ng story! And just keep writing, marami ka pang isusulat na draft. Draft na magdadala sa 'yo sa way ng pagiging published author, dahil kung hindi ka dumaan sa drafting, paano ka magiging published author?
