CHAPTER THIRTEEN: HIS IMPERFECTIONS

“DID YOU restrain yourself from any sexual activities since the beginning of our session?”

Napatingin ako kay Dr. Merida Melchior matapos marinig ang tanong niya. Bumaba ang salamin niya sa mata at dalawang beses umangat ang isang kilay.

“Stop doing that, please?” Pakiusap niya sa ginang at itinigil na ang paglalaro sa snow globe na kinuha sa lamesa nito.

“Answer me, Matthias. Do you restrain or not?”

“I did whatever you demand me to do before. I've been celibate since the day I started consulting you.” Parang hindi naniniwala sa akin si Dr. Melchior. Tila ba may nais siya ipahiwatig sa akin. “Can go back and to court as a lawyer, not a consultant. Ayoko na rin maging investigator na kumakalap ng ebidensya.”

Ngumiti si Dr. Melchior pagkarinig sa sinabi ko sa kanya. “What I heard with your brother is different? You're enjoying the fieldwork with your girlfriend.”

Napamura ako. Hindi ko talaga maasahan si Kiya Clarence palibhasa ay pareho kami ng psychiatrist dalawa.

“You're still subjected to some psychological examination before I can give back everything to you. For now, enjoy the field with that woman.”

It means I still have to restrain myself from any sexual activities. Hindi ko alam kung hanggang kailan pa ito tatagal. Pero kasalanan ko rin naman bakit ako nalagay sa ganitong sitwasyon.

I engaged myself to a relationship where I lost myself and became insane, making my family sent me away. Matapos ko ma-ospital at maka-recover sa Denmark, bumalik ako kaso hindi ko pa rin nakuha iyong lisensya at permiso na humawak ulit ng kaso.

The law office is consulting me but not taking the lawyer's stand at court. Para lang imbestigador sa law office na tumutulong sa kapatid ko na kakabawi lang rin ng lisensya.

“I'm glad to see changes in you, Matthias,” dagdag pa ni Dr. Melchior bago ako tuluyan umalis.

Paglabas ko, nakatanggap ako agad ng text mula kay Jeni na ilang araw ko na hindi nakikita. Right! I told her to expect the revise contract in two days and today is the second day.

From: Jeni Daria
Kailan tayo ulit magkikita?

Huminga ako ng malalim pagkabasa mensahe ni Jeni. Siguro dapat sabihin ko na sa kanya. Magre-reply ako dapat kaso may pumasok ulit na mensahe.

From: JC De Luna
Where are you? I need help with a case and you owe explanation about Dean's police records.

Napakamot ako sa aking noo. I ignore my brother's message and opened Jeni's. Nag type ako ng sagot na ilang beses ko muna binabasa bago ipinadala. After a few seconds, I went back to Kuya's message and type a reply.

To: JC De Luna
I'm own my way now.

Just when I'm about to slid my phone inside my pocket, I received another text and it's from Jeni.

From: Jeni Daria
Inaaya mo ba ako ng date? I told you it's not my thing.

Muli akong huminga ng malalim saka nag-isip ng maaaring i-reply.

Jeni is a cold woman. Wala siyang pakialam sa ibang bagay na walang kinalaman sa sex. She's surely do whatever she can just to achieve her goals and be not involved to someone. And I must admit that I am attracted to broken woman like Jeni. I can feel that she's broken.

Hindi pa lang siya handa na ibukas sa akin ang kanyang buhay. On the other hand, I think I'm ready to reveal my imperfections to her.

Dani was like Jeni. But a little cruel and selfish which I didn't expect so I lost in the game where Dani was the master and I'm her prey - an obedient prey.
