CHAPTER 14

ALICE ROMANO

I am sitting in my room and there are only 4 hours left for dinner now and I don't what to do I am really scared of them

I don't know how they are or anything about them-

Issac and Nate enter my room

"Hello piccolino" Nate says 

piccolino? is he calling me short now. Don't be surprised since I have gotten my laptop I have been learning a couple languages one of them being Italian. I stare at him.

{piccolino- shortie}

he completely ignores my stare and plops down on my bed 

"What are you thinking" Issac asks

"I-i don't know maybe that they will be judging me and that they will not like me-" I start but Nate speaks interrupting my thoughts

"Its not possible to not like you" 

"Yeas he is right and everyone already likes you" Issac says

"They don't know me" I say

"They know you from day one" Nate says

I look at him shocked 

"Yes by the way we were thinking to go and buy some milkshakes want some?" Issac asks 

"Yes chocolate milkshake!" I shout

" Ok we will get chocolate milkshake for you and what are you going to wear at dinner" Nate asks laughing at me

"I... forgot about that" I say and run into my walk in closet

I search through all the piles of clothes for about 15 minutes finally spotting the one that I would like to wear for this family meeting.

I get out of the closet with the dress in my hand and find the room empty.

Its 5pm now there are only 3 hours left now.

I go to the bathroom and get ready.

I am done getting ready I get into my bedroom to find chocolate milkshake on my bedside table.

I drink it. I feel a little better after drinking the milkshake and having a bath.

I get downstairs and go into the living room to find the twins Issac and Arthur sitting on the sofa all of them scrolling through their phones.

I sit down beside Arthur and start bouncing my leg, he looks at me and says "Its ok they are nice people" 

"Where are the others?" I ask 

"They are on the way back from work" he looks at his watch "They will be back in five minutes" Arthur says

"Then why are you here?" I blurt out 

I didn't mean to say it like that

"I mean- you are always with them so I just asked " I say 

"Its okay I came back a few hours earlier" He says

"Ok" I say

2 minutes later the main door opens and I panic 

They are here already. I think I will go back to my room 

"Relax its just Ace, Alex and Elijah" Nate says 

"Oh okay" I say slumping back on the sofa

"Hello bambina you look beautiful" Elijah says

"Hi Elijah thanks" I say

"He is right Magnolia" Ace says "Thanks"

Alex winks at me and says 'stunning' he mouths  

I smile at him blushing on the compliments 

"They will be here in 10 mins" Ace says

"I- I have to use the washroom" I rush out of the living room and march to my room

As soon as I reach the bedroom I get inside and close the door 

I start pacing around.

You may be thinking it is just some family members. I am just unsure about this and the fact I don't know them or that I don't remember them or majority of my life.

As I was thinking I heard Ace calling me and telling me that they have arrived 

I reach downstairs Noah and Arthur are standing near the stairs but before I could take one more step a familiar scent reaches my nose I panic and turn around trying to go back upstairs but Arthur stops me.

"Where are you going"

I look back and stare at him for a second and grab Noah's and sprint to my room.

I close my door and lock it.

I look at Noah and start to panic I need to tell him but hat if he doesn't believe me.

I don't know what to do tears form in my eyes making it blurry to see anything Noah rushes to me and hugs me.

"Its fine they are good people" he says

"no" I say crying on his chest

"What do you mean" he says

"Its him. Its him. his scent" I say 

Noah tightens his hold on me.

"Don't worry I promise this time I will protect you" he says brushing my hair with his hand 

a few minutes later he says

"We have to go down" he says

I start to panic 

"Don't panic I will go down as soon as I am out you lock the door ok?" he says

I nod my head 

ARTHUR ROMANO (POV) 

*few minutes before Alice gets down*

All the family members enter the house and we greet each other soon everyone settle down in the living room. 

"Where is she " Nono asks

Lorenzo goes to the door and calls Alice

As soon as he calls Noah gets up and leave the living room I follow him

He goes and stands near the stairs.

Alice reaches down and suddenly stops and turns around I ask her where she was going she looked back  at me panicked and grabs Noah and run up to her room. 

I follow them quietly and hear her crying?

Why is she crying?

I keep my ear to the door and listen in on their conversation. 

Noah was talking to her and trying her to get calm down 

He said to her that everything is fine and she said about some scent and him

Who is this him?

What scent?

How does Noah know about this?

After a while Noah gets out of the room and Alice locks the room.

Why is she locking her room?

Noah signals me to keep quiet. I nod quietly thinking to ask him about what exactly happened in there.

We go back into the living room thinking

What is happening and why is he hiding it?

I will make sure to know about this later.
