Chapter 1 - Hydra's memories

It was a slow calm night in the restaurant. Not a lot of customers, a few candle lit tables, not much orders. Aether pulled out a plate of two chilled lobsters from the fridge, pulling out some ingredients, some butter, some herbs, chili, garlic "Rhea how's the linguini coming?" He asked

"Waters boiling chef, needs a few minutes and it will be ready" his assistant chef said behind him

"Get started on the breadcrumbs meanwhile, make sure they're not greasy, don't add a lot of oil" he said as he finely and swiftly chopped up some parsley and put it in a blender

"Yes chef" she replied as she worked behind him. Suddenly Cupid walked up to the counter on the other side of the kitchen, resting his arms on the countertop

"Table 25 is asking how long till they get their food" He asked

"We're just waiting for the pasta to cook I'm basically done with these lobsters" Aether replied as he gestured with his hand for Cupid to get closer to him as he whispered in his ear "I'm gonna lose my fucking mind with her she put cold water in the pot instead of hot water, she thought it would boil faster that way" he whispered as Cupid chuckled

"Go easy on her it's her first week" he said

"She messed up three orders already I'm losing it" he said

"Want me to come and help you?" Cupid asked

"Gods I fucking wish. Did you call Hermès is he coming" Aether asked

"He said he won't be able to come pick us up he's got something at the station"

"Fucking moron. Fine. I'll tell my guys to get us a car. Go ask them if they want some wine" he said as Cupid nodded

"Are you alright? You seem kinda... agitated" Cupid asked

"I'm ok just go quickly before they get mad" He said

"Chef should I put the breadcrumbs in the water with the pasta too?" Rhea asked behind him, as Aether dropped his knife and sighed, pinching his nose bridge

"Cupid go before I commit a fucking crime in this fucking restaurant" he said as Cupid giggled and went to the bartender for some glasses of wine

"Rhea, listen. The breadcrumbs are just a finish for the linguini. Just heat them in a pan for some crisp and put some parsley too, they're just a garnish" he said as he helped her out

"Oh, I see now" she said

"When the pasta is al dente add it to the sauce and finish it off with the breadcrumbs, I just gotta grill the lobsters then we'll serve"

"Yes chef" she said as he turned back to his lobsters and grilled them with the herb butter, making the whole restaurant smell absolutely delicious. Soon enough, Rhea gave him the plate of pasta and he added the lobster, and then put the plate in the window, and rang the bell, telling Cupid to come and serve it as he washed his hands, now having finished the final order of the day "Chef should I give them some of the complimentary dessert?" She asked

"No, there's no need, if they ask we will" he said and she nodded, as Aether went and greeted his guests, before going out on the balcony with a glass of whiskey for some fresh air as he made some phone calls. He then went back inside, seeing Cupid on the register "Wait what are you doing" he asked

"Getting their bill, they're done" he replied

"Wait wait WAIT WE DIDNT GIVE THEM DESERT OH MY FUCKING GOD" he said as he ran back to the kitchen and opened the fridge "Rhea come on didn't I tell you like an hour ago to get the dessert out?!" He yelled
