Chapter 28 - Yaoguaoi and the Pestilence

Yang Asha watched her perfectly styled finger nails as she waited for her meeting. Caishen told her it was 8 in the evening, and she made sure to be there 10 mins early. She even had a few of her men standing in the back, just in case. She was quite confident and could deal with business on her own, but it can never be wrong to be extra safe.

Eventually, the door of the wide open hangar opened, and in came a wheelchair, with the person she was meant to be meeting. She also had some of her own men, one pushing her wheelchair and two others following

"Miss Wēnyi, I must say it's an honor to finally meet up with you~!" Asha said enthusiastically as she got up and offered her hand

Miss Wēnyì, despite her disability, was surprisingly in quite good shape. Her upper body was built well, very muscular and healthy looking, and even with all the tubes connected to her arms, and gas mask, she seemed to be in good health. She also raised her hand, bringing it to meet Asha's. It was rough, a deep contrast with Asha's smooth gentle hands.

"I'm sorry for my tardiness, my employees need a lesson in time management" She said

"Not a problem, it's always a pleasure to meet with you after all" Asha said with a smile

"I should be the one to give you such praise, your reputation in the streets of Luoyang, even so the whole of Zhongguo, is spreading quickly, even more neighboring nations are starting to pick up your name, your way of work is marvelous" She replied

"Hehe, all good I hope~" Asha said with a giggle

"Absolutely. I guess we should talk business?"

"Please. I have to say, with you running such a well known pharmaceutical company of such status, I was quite surprised when I heard you wanted to deal business in the down low parts of Luoyang"

"My aim is to increase to a more stable income not only in Luoyang but also to other capitals, Beijing, Xi'an, Nanjing, maybe even others too, hence why I contacted you"

"I must say I'm flattered, but I must know what your plan is, more specifically, your product. In your proposition you got me quite curious, but the nature of the product of course determines a lot of factors. Clients, distribution, transport, you know" Asha asked as she put her fingers together

Miss  Wēnyì reached down and slowly pulled out a small box, slowly opening it to contain a single small pill

"Before you is a new product innovated by my laboratories, and I believe it's specifications... shall we say, will be stronger than any other similar drug on the market" She said, as Asha's eyebrows turned from a shocked expression to a more mellowed down one

"Before I ask, I must inquire. Did Caishen not brief you on my line of work? I'm more into the trade of arms and smuggling contraband from neighboring companies, not so much into the trade of drugs"

"Mr. Baozang did inform me, but I believe with your expertise, this product will fetch us both a hefty sum of income. Especially once I explain what it is capable of. You're more than capable of branching out, Madam Yang Asha"

"Well I must say. you've got my interest"

"This drug is the new pinnacle of medicine. It tackles not physical ailments, but all mental illnesses. Anxiety. PTSD, depression, schizophrenia, all tackled by this one miracle drug" She explained making Asha raise her eyebrows

"Oh, I assumed it was a recreational drug"

"No, but the demand for it would be even higher. Unlike other pills and treatments, this one works with no side effects, a flawless relief of the pain from such illnesses, hence, the consumer will only keep asking for more to relieve the pain" She explained as Asha looked at the product with restraint. She went silent for a moment. Yang Asha spent her life growing up in the streets to survive. She knew this life was full of hardships. But that doesn't mean taking advantage of others was something she would take on lightly. Sure, she worked in an undesirable shady business with the gangs and lowlife of the city, but she still has her own high standards. She looked back at Miss Wēnyì, her enthusiastic excited expression now a bit more monotone
