Chapter 36 - The Sphinx prepares for War

"Is it just me or do they both look nervous?" Lei asked

"I don't think we've ever seen King Yan and Shangdi ever interact with any other person that wasn't us. Or the Greeks that we met last time I guess" Nüwa explained

"Look at Zhurong though he is not having fun, heh" Cai mocked as he pointed

"Considering what happened last time when we met another group, yes I'm not looking forward to it, dick head" Zhurong replied

"Did you talk to Anubis?" Mazu asked the Yang Asha who was beside her

"Mhm, he'll be the one to meet up with us, and take us there. It's quite the interesting coincidence that he also ended up being a Powerholder" She explained

"It's good that King Yan seems to trust him" Cai added

"King Yan doesn't even trust Zhurong, don't think he would trust anyone easily" Dianmu added

"Yeah but that's Zhurong, it's his fault" Mazu added

"Mazu don't even fucking start" Zhurong replied

"I MEAN IT! You've been a whole pain in the ass for King!" Mazu berated him

"If you are done gossiping, I would advise you to get ready, we are almost there" Shangdi informed them.

The group had just travelled all the way to Scandinavia, using King Yan's dark matter manipulation he was easily able to transport them there, but now they were simply walking to the base camp

"Come here" Yang Asha said as she pulled Zhurong's arm and licked her fingers and fixed up Zhurong's hair

"What the- Ew sto-" Zhurong said moving his head away but she held him firm and fixed his hair

"You're not going to meet them looking like a mess" She scolded him, to the delight of Mazu and King

"Right. Listen here everyone" King ordered as they made it to the front gate of the base camp

"The gods have planned us to aid the Egyptian Powerholders in their excursions. Once we meet them and introduce ourselves, they will negotiate a plan and steps on how to move forward. You will all stick to your roles and you will all do as your told. This is the real thing, now. No more messing around. This is why you were given powers by the gods. Do NOT embarrass us. Understood?" King said

"Stop fucking looking at me like that" Zhurong said

"Glad to know you got the message" King said as they approached the gate, and soon some Egyptian soldiers on the lookout pointed some bright lights at them. After a moment of back and forth that they could hear behind the gate, they saw the door open, with the familiar Anubis appearing behind the gate

It appeared he was in uniform of some sorts, as he scanned the group, with familiarity in his eyes as he smiled at the sight of Yang Asha

"You all made it. It's the greatest privilege to have you here" Anubis said

"You look wonderful, darling" Asha added

"You brought your landlords too, what an honor" Anubis joked making her and Nüwa giggle

"Ugh..." King said as he rolled his eyes

"Please, welcome. It's pretty cold out" He said as he lead them inside. Despite being a mere base camp, it was looked like a whole military sight, guards and Sergeants walking around, tanks and armored giant scarab beetles parked in rows, soldiers training wielding their Khopesh's and firearms

"Prince Ra is very excited to meet some new allies. Don't worry about his status he is very friendly" Anubis explained

"Is he the Powerholder or is it prince Khonshu?" Caishen asked
