After Y/n took Gabriella to her soccer practice, she came back home. And since Miguel did not came back yet, the nanny decided to call her parents to spend some time.
She sat on her bed in her bedroom, dialing her parents' number. As the phone rang, she felt a mixture of excitement and apprehension. It had been a while since they last spoke, and she missed their familiar voices dearly.
Finally, her mother's voice filled the line <<Hello? Y/n, is that you?>>
A smile spread across Y/n's face. <<Hi, Mom, it's me. How are you and dad doing?>> she asked curiously, laying on her belly.
Her mother's response was filled with warmth <<Oh, my dear, we're doing well. Your father just finished tending to the garden, and I just baked an apple pie.>> at the thought of it, Y/n could almost swear to taste that delicious pie that her mother was usual to do <<How about you, sweetheart? What are you doing?>>.
Y/n took a deep breath, preparing herself for the conversation she knew was coming <<I'm doing alright, Mom. Life has been busy, but fulfilling. I've just took Gabriella to her soccer's practice and now I have a bit of relax at home.>>.
Her father's voice joined the conversation, tinged with concern <<Y/n, we miss you so much. We worry that you're not truly happy, living with other people and taking care of someone who isn't even there most of the time.>>.
Y/n's brows furrowed, a mix of sadness and determination in her eyes <<I understand your concerns, but please believe me when I say that I am happy where I am. Living with Miguel and taking care of his daughter has brought so much joy into my life. I love her as if she were my own.>>
Her mother's voice sounded troubled. <<But, Y/n, we don't like the fact that you're so far away. We want you close to us. And this job of yours... it's not what we envisioned for you.>> they spoke <<I mean... you could have become a doctor! Saving lives...>>.
Y/n's voice remained steady, despite the pang of disappointment in her heart <<I know it's hard being apart, but please understand that I'm not wasting my life. I have found purpose and fulfillment in caring for Gabriella. She brings me so much happiness every day. I love my job.>>.

Meanwhile downstairs the main door opened, where Miguel came back home <<I'm home.>> he announced, taking off his tie tiredly. He got confused when no one answered in the house, since the nanny's car was outside.
He went upstairs, and how he heard her voice talking at someone, so he stayed quiet since he though she was talking someone at the phone. But the man couldn't help but hear a bit of hers conversation.
Meanwhile Y/n's father's voice softened as he spoke <<We just worry that you're sacrificing your own dreams and ambitions for someone else's family. You deserve to have a life of your own, Y/n...>>
The nanny's gaze grew resolute <<Dad, I appreciate your concern, but living with Miguel and caring for Gabriella has taught me more about love, compassion, and family than I could have ever imagined.>> she smiled at herself <<Miguel may not always be present, but he's a kind and understanding father. I've found a sense of belonging and purpose here.>>.
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line as her parents digested her words. Her mother's voice broke the silence, filled with a mixture of worry and love. <<We just want you to be happy, Y/n. We want you to have a life that fulfills you.>>
<<It does, I promise.>> she tried to convince them.
The mother wasn't sure yet <<Didn't you say the father of that child was cold and harsh?>> asked, remembering the first impression that Miguel made on Y/n. Miguel was surprised by the woman words, but kept hearing.
Y/n rolled on her back <<Well I thought he was. He is actually nice, supportive towards his daughter's interests, he is kind and cares even of me since I started living with them.>> on Y/n face a soft blush spreaded over her face, fortunately her parents couldn't see it <<He is also a gentle man, if he notices that something makes people uncomfortable he will make sure to make it stop, and he is a good listener,he gives you personal space if you need. Probably the best man i have ever met in all these years of babysitting.>> she giggles, covering a bit her face. She was falling for him, totally.
Miguel was surprised by her about him, but he was glad of her honest words.
There was a brief pause on the other end of the line, as if her parents were processing her words. Then, her father's voice filled with love <<Well, if you're truly happy, then we support you, Y/n. We trust your judgment and just want you to be fulfilled.>>
Y/n smiled, touched by her parents' understanding <<Thank you, dad. I promise you, I'm not missing out on life. I'm building a beautiful one right here.>>
Her mother's voice softened <<We believe in you, Y/n. We're always here for you, no matter what.>>
Y/n's heart swelled with love for her parents <<I know, Mom. And I appreciate it more than words can express. I'll keep you both updated on how things are going, okay?>>
Her father's voice carried a gentle tone, <<Please do, my dear. We're just a phone call away.>>

As the conversation drew to a close, Y/n felt a renewed sense of purpose. She was grateful for her parents' concern, but she knew deep down that she was exactly where she was meant to be. With a smile on her face, she bid her parents goodbye, promising to call again soon. Meanwhile Miguel was processing her words, as he walked to his bedroom to change in comfortable clothes. He closed the door and made a long sigh, as his cheeks got red <<Ah mierda...>>.
He was falling harder for her now, no doubts about it.
