The rest of the breakfast had been quiet. Carlisia ate as much as she could over her lost appetite until she couldn't anymore.

"Would you like a tour of the castle?"

Carlisia hesitated for a moment, torn between her desire to learn more about her surroundings and her unease about being alone with Carson. But she couldn't stay confined to her room forever, and the promise of knowledge was too enticing to resist.

Carson had already gotten up and extended his hand to her, being the gentleman yet Carlisia knew the monster underneath the sheep's skin.

With a cautious nod, she placed her hand in his, and he led her out of the grand dining hall and into the labyrinthine corridors of the castle once more.

As they walked, Carson began to explain more about the castle's history and its unique inhabitants. He spoke of the Eterna Noctis, their abilities, and their complex society that had existed in secrecy for centuries. He mentioned the library once more, emphasizing its importance as a repository of knowledge about the supernatural world.

Carlisia listened, absorbing the information like a sponge. Despite her reservations, she couldn't deny that she was intrigued by the mysteries surrounding her captors and this secluded castle.

They visited various rooms in the castle, each one more ornate and enigmatic than the last. There was a room filled with ancient artefacts and relics, a chamber adorned with celestial maps and charts, and even a garden enclosed within the castle walls, where exotic and otherworldly plants thrived.

As they explored, Carlisia couldn't help but notice that Carson was always nearby, his presence a constant reminder of her captivity. Yet, he maintained a facade of congeniality, answering her questions and guiding her with an air of authority and knowledge.

Hours passed, and Carlisia's initial anxiety began to ebb, replaced by a growing curiosity. The castle held so many secrets, and she wanted to uncover them all. But beneath her intrigue, a sense of unease lingered.

Finally, they arrived at a set of heavy wooden doors, adorned with intricate carvings of celestial bodies and arcane symbols. Carson pushed one of the doors open, revealing a room bathed in soft, ambient light.

The library.

Rows upon rows of ancient books, scrolls, and tomes lined the shelves, their spines adorned with symbols and languages Carlisia couldn't decipher. The room exuded a sense of quiet wisdom and untold knowledge, and she couldn't help but feel a shiver of anticipation.

Carlisia couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the vastness of the library. It was a treasure trove of knowledge, a repository of secrets that beckoned to her. Her fingers brushed over the spines of ancient books, and she marvelled at the intricate scripts and illustrations that adorned them.

As she began to explore the shelves, her eyes caught glimpses of titles that piqued her interest—books on vampires, werewolves, witches, and other supernatural beings. She reached for one and pulled it off the shelf, flipping through its pages. The text was in a language she couldn't immediately understand, but the illustrations depicted creatures of the night in vivid detail.

Carson watched her with a hint of amusement as she became engrossed in her discovery. "Take your time, little lamb," he said. "This library holds the knowledge of generations. It is a privilege few have had the opportunity to access."

Carlisia nodded, her heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and trepidation. She was determined to make the most of this opportunity, to learn everything she could about the world she had been thrust into. But even as she delved into the texts, a nagging question tugged at her mind.
