Wasted Times

Part 31 - One Way Or Another

"Tony?" you groan with your sleepy voice.

You've just woken up in his bed after spending the night here and you think you've heard him getting ready. Your eyes are still blurry and not entirely open so you can't be sure if you're mistaken, it's possible that he's left already for Stark Industries.

"Hey, good morning" he appears back in the bedroom, all dressed up.

"You're leaving?" you ask the obvious question but you're not fully awake yet to think straight.

"Yes, I have to go by my office first and then I have a meeting" he sits on the bed next to you.

"Is it with Benjamin?" you ask and see him as he freezes.

"Um, I-I'm not sure, what Benjamin do you mean exactly?" he looks away, trying to distract you.

"Tony, you know exactly what Benjamin I'm talking about" you take his hand in yours and he finally looks at you.

"How did you know?" he chuckles quietly.

You pull yourself together and manage to sit up better on the bed, reaching Tony's level.

"I've been working with this man for years. I know he likes his important meetings first thing in the morning and I also know that it's been over a week since our last meeting. You might not be sharing updates with me but I've been in the same line of work, I can put two and two together" you smile.

"God, you're smart" he chuckles.

"You should've known that by now" you tease him.

"I know, trust me" he caresses your face kindly.

"I want to join you" you say and he closes his eyes, definitely expecting you to say that.

"This needs to be just me, baby. Whether the deal goes through or not, I will inform you immediately. Actually, I'll let Pepper know that I'm not going to the office today, I'll come right back here for you" he says after thinking about it shortly.

"You're just giving her more reasons to hate me" you joke.

"Hey, she doesn't hate you. Why do you think that?" he asks, very worried.

"Well, we never got along very well, I'm sure you know that. And nowadays you keep missing work more and more because of me" you explain.

"She doesn't hate you, that's just how she acts towards business competitors. She tried to get us back together, didn't see?" he answers.

"Yeah, that was surprising" you raise your eyebrows.

"It shouldn't be. Pepper is one of my closest people, she wants me to be happy. She knows you make me happy, trust me she likes you" he smiles beautifully.

"Alright, I have no reason to doubt you" you nod.

"I have to go, but I'll be back as soon as I can" he says.

"I know, take your time, I'll be here. After all, there's nothing I have to do" you joke.

"You can do everything and anything you wish, my love. But I certainly hope that doesn't include forgetting about me" he laughs.

"Never" you shake your head.

"Perfect. I'll see you soon" he says and leans close to you to give you a taste of his lips.

After the kiss, he makes a move to stand up and start his way out but you pull him right back into the bed with you. He's shocked at first, not expecting that move from you. He continues to be shocked when you pull him by his tie for a very heated kiss, but he gives into it pretty quickly and kisses you back. It ends up with your body lying on top of his, your arms around his neck passionately and his arms on your hips, getting a good hold of your a*s.
