"What did you say?" I asked, sitting up slowly. Mattheo's face went from adoring to terrified.

I didn't know he could ever be scared.

"You were awake?" he asked. "No, not really. I was about to fall asleep," I said. 

"Well shit," he muttered, sitting up with me. I smirked, but I was really paying attention to the rapid beat of my heart. 

I loved Mattheo.

I don't know how long it took me to realize it, but I did.

And he loved me too.

"I know what you said," I whispered. "Yeah, I can tell," he said. I touched his cheek. It was smooth, and very defined. 

"I love you too," I whispered, drawing a heart on his cheek with my thumb. I thought that I had said it too quietly, but it felt good to admit it. 

"Really?" he asked, turning into my palm. I smiled. "Yeah," I said. He reached up to cup my cheek, bringing us closer together.

"What now?" I asked. "I think this is the part where we kiss," he said. I laughed and my arms instinctively wrapped around his neck. Pain flared in my shoulder, but I didn't really care. 

I wanted Mattheo. I needed him.

His arms snaked around my waist, pulling me in, and our lips met. They moved in perfect sync with each other.

"I guess we just turned real," Mattheo said against my lips. "I guess so," I said, smiling.

A knock on the door made us jump, and I quickly shifted to a sleeping pose, my head resting on his chest. I pretended to sleep, shutting my eyes and trying to get rid of the smile on my face. But  it was like Mattheo had pasted it on my lips.

Mattheo kept a hand on my back and pulled me even closer, and we both went still.

"Maybe it's unlocked," Draco's voice whispered. "What if they're naked?" Enzo asked. He sounded like he was trying his hardest to whisper, but he just couldn't.

"What if they are?" Nira asked. I heard someone twist the knob, and the door swung open easily.

Damn it.

I heard them barge into the room, loudly deciding that they should check if I was doing okay.

"Oh. They're just sleeping," Didi said. I suddenly felt eight pairs of eyes staring down at me and Mattheo's 'sleeping' faces.

"And they're not naked," Theo said. "Yeah. We see that," Tom muttered. "Guys, let's just leave them alone. They're sleeping," Zee said. 

"WAIT WAIT WAIT I need to take a picture," Jenjen said. "We'll show it to them tomorrow!" Didi squealed. I heard a phone camera snap, and I fought the urge to get up and scream at them.

"Okay, everyone out," Zee called, and I heard them stampede out of the room like earlier. After the door closed, I sat up slowly, wincing at the pain in my shoulder. Mattheo sat up with me, laughing.

"I can't wait to see our faces in that picture," he said. I made a face. "Of course, they had to take a picture," I grumbled. 

"Now, where were we before we were so rudely interrupted?" I asked. Mattheo's arms were around me again, and his lips were on mine in an instant.

I smiled. I really couldn't help it. 

"I can't kiss you if you're smiling," Mattheo said against my lips. I laughed and pulled away.

"Am I dreaming?" I asked, sitting back. "You're not that creative," Mattheo replied, and I swatted at him with my good arm. 

"Halloween's coming up. And there's a costume party I heard about," he said. "Ooooooo! We should do a couples costume!" I squealed. 

"Who should we be?" he asked. "We could do Taylor and Travis!" I said. "Nooooooo, I don't want to dress up like a football player," Mattheo whined. I rolled my eyes. 

"Then what do you want to do?" I asked. "Didn't you mention that one book, To All the Boys I Loved Before?" he asked. I nodded, surprised he remembered. 

"How did you remember that?" I asked. "Magic," Mattheo said, and I laughed. "Well, what you say, Covey?" he asked.

"You read it!" I said. "I had to know what you were talking about," he said, shrugging. "That's honestly the sweetest thing ever!" I said, clapping my hands together. 

"Lara Jean and Peter it is," Mattheo said. I giggled and hugged him. He laughed and smoothed the back of my hair.

Eventually, I fell asleep in Mattheo's arms.
