When I fell for you,
I forgot how to breathe,
think or be.
When I fell for you I fell through the ground underneath me,
right through the earth's core,
and came out the other side.
You were my center of existence
my every waking thought.
But I had to let go,
let go of that rope.
The rope we got tangled in,
the rope we once called our love,
because you let go first.
The rope that I held on alone for too long,
the rope that cut and brushed me.
The very same rope
that we once called our love.
