Asia's face was as red as a tomato as she stuttered, failing to find words. I chuckled in amusement at her bewildered state.
"A-A date? With me?"
"Yes. With you." She apparently was shocked enough to double check whether I meant what I said.
"Why ask me out all of a sudden?"
"Well, not only is it a way for me to make it up to you, I also just wanna spend some time with you. It's been awhile since we last hung out, just the two of us. Usually you're swarmed with other people at school, and if we ever do hang out, Murayama or Katase are nearby. But, if you don't want to go out with me, I completely understand."
"N-No! I do..."
"You do...what?"
Her face continued to gain color as she lowered her head, clearly embarrassed to say her true feelings. I knew she wanted to agree to the date but...I couldn't help tease her a bit more.
"I...want to go on a date with you..."
"I'm glad. I also want to go on a date with you too." After having my fun messing with Asia, I patted her head gently and started walking upstairs to my room.
As soon as I entered, I tore off the shredded tracksuit top and pants I had and tossed them into the garbage can. I went to grab some more clothes but slowly, my body came to a halt as I peered around me.
"What is this presence I'm sensing...?" Ever since I came out from the tower, it felt like something was sticking really close to me. My eyes were constantly looking everywhere for where this presence could be coming from, but I saw nothing. Thankfully I didn't sense any hostility from it, but it was starting to bug me.
"Now that my Sense stat is at 50, I'm picking up nearly everything. Maybe if I focus just a bit harder?" I closed my eyes this time and ignored every other sound or noise in the vicinity. As I cleared my mind and honed in on the sensation I was feeling, I realized something. This strange presence wasn't coming from around me...it was coming from me.
[New skill obtained: Magic sense]
My eyes shot open after hearing the notification from the system. I had obtained a new skill that made my world view, quite literally, change. A massive aura poured out from my arms as I raised them to meet my eyes.
"Magic sense...so, I can sense magic now...?" A thick green aura clung closely to my body as I looked at myself. I could feel a strange power emanating from it, or rather myself. It was completely different compared to the aura a person would emit normally.
The aura of magic I was emitting was fairly powerful, and was constantly pouring out. It left a clear trail of where I walked beforehand and I could even sense traces of myself outside from the path I took to get home.
"That...doesn't bode well." If I can pick up the trail of magic I left behind, there's no telling who else can. With a new problem at hand, I quickly wracked my brain for a solution for it.
"Ok, think (Y/N), how do you deal with this situation? Or better yet, what even caused it? I've never leaked an aura like this before." Even when my Sense stat was below 50, I was always able to sense my own aura, and it never gave off such an intense presence like this.
"Was I not able to sense it beforehand? I did increase my points pretty drastically today...no, if that were the case, Rias and Sona would have approached me much sooner no doubt." Since those two deal with magic in their day to day lives, it's no stretch to think they already have the ability to sense magic like this. And even if it wasn't them, no doubt some rogue demon in the vicinity would have tried to attack me in order to consume my magic in order to make themselves stronger...
