Vali Lucifer POV
"I may not have used it for a long time, but I managed to weather my Juggernaut Drive. All the same, I would like to limit how many times I have to use it, if possible. I'll burn myself out at this rate..." Exhausted beyond normal measures, I sighed after reverting back to normal. My battle with Fenrir was over, and I now had him fully subdued and wrapped within the chains of Gleipnir. With that checked off my list, I turned over to Arthur.
"How did things go on your end?"
"We may be able to manage Fenrir with the master Excalibur...however, the bonds will considerably limit his total strength. I can understand your interest in that creature's fangs, but you certainly have some odd ideas. I'd never let such a dangerous beast join our ranks." Arthur came up closely to my side while looking at Fenrir with a sideways glare. He seemed perturbed at my idea, but I could only chuckle in response.
While I was talking with him, Bikou came up behind me.
"Vali, we've got word from Cao Cao."
"What does he want now, Bikou?" Seemingly worried, Bikou leaned on one leg while scratching the back of his head.
"Basically, he's saying they're going it alone. And telling us not to get in their way." I stared at my companion while thinking for a moment. I always had a feeling he might go rogue, but for him to do it like this...
"Cao Cao...let us pray we don't meet again. We won't hold back if you come after us."
"But still, that Issei Hyoudou guy is a straight up beast! To think he'd be able to use a god crafted weapon so easily. He just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Who knows what kind of monster he'll be the next time we see him." Bikou's demeanor had changed once he started talking about Issei, and honestly I had to agree. The thought of fighting him became more tantalizing with each encounter.
"Indeed. He's living up to his title as a Heavenly Dragon. As things are going, maybe he can become even more..." My lips had curled into a wide grin.
My fated rival. I await the day we can clash against each other once more. This time, with our full strength.
Issei Hyoudou POV
I felt dead tired. It was the next day after our battle with Loki, and I was leaning on the couch inside the O.R.C. room. I had wanted to fully lay down and go to sleep, but I couldn't do that for two reasons.
One, other people might want to rest on the couch, and with how tall I am, I'd easily take up all the seats. And two...Koneko was sitting in my lap again. She really has taken to using me as her personal chair whenever we're in the clubroom, but then again, most cats do that don't they? And you know the rules, once a cat sits on you, you are forbidden from moving until they do.
Anyways, with our battle with Loki over, Odin managed to complete his talks with the Japanese gods without any issue. He was already back in the North. Just before he left, he also took the replica Mjolnir with him. I had tried to bargain with him and asked if I could keep it, but he simply laughed me off and took it.
Such a shame...I was starting to enjoy swinging that around, not gonna lie.
And not only that, like I had assumed, Vali did manage to escape with Fenrir. Just like in the anime, he most likely has it within his ranks now. Granted, things played out completely differently from what I remember, but I've come to believe that this timeline I'm living in is probably from the series main source material, the light novel.
While I was deep in thought, I suddenly smelt something sweet getting pressed gently underneath my nose. Opening an eye, I noticed Koneko giving me one of her snacks.
