Issei Hyoudou POV
Day had turned into night after the surprise attack from Cao Cao and his cronies. With news that their plan was gonna take place tonight, everyone from the Gremory Familia, Sitri Familia, Irina, Azazel and Serafall all gathered into my room for a strategy meeting.
With the enormous amount of people in here, some were leaning up against the walls and others were using my closet as a sitting place. Irina and Xenovia specifically were inside as I sat at the only table my room could provide with most of the figure heads of tonight. Rossweisse was still kind of sick from her drinking escapade in the afternoon, but despite her nausea, she soldiered through in order to sit with us.
She said she had taken some medicine earlier to help her, but she still looked sea sick...
"Let's go over our strategy, then." Azazel took a long look around the room to make sure everyone was present and paying attention. Once he confirmed it, he spread a map of Kyoto onto the table.
"Right now, the area around Nijo Castle and Kyoto Station is on high alert. I've mobilized all those in Kyoto connected in one way or another to demons or fallen angels to keep an eye out for any suspicious individuals or activities. From what I can tell, the Hero Faction hasn't made a move yet, but we've detected several disturbing outflows of energy centers on Nijo Castle."
"Disturbing flows of energy?" Confused, Kiba raised his voice to question Azazel who promptly answered.
"Yeah. Back when it was first built, Kyoto was laid out based on yin-yang and feng shui principles. Because of that, there's a lot of so called power spots scattered all over the place. Think the pentacle of Seimei Shrine, the statues of the Jizou of Happiness at Suzumushi-dera Temple, or the Hizamatsu Pine at Fushimi Inari Shrine. There are more places here filled with mysterious powers than you can count. But now the outflows of energy are all out of whack and are concentrating on Nijo Castle."
"What's going to happen?" Saji was the next one to ask a question, clearly concerned with this news.
"I don't have a clue, but it definitely ain't gonna be good seeing as they're using the nine-tailed matriarch who governs the mystical side of this city in their experiment. We're gonna have to base our plan around that point." We know of their plan, but the consequences of what it'll produce are still foreign to us. Everyone in the room realized how dangerous the situation could become if we failed, so we all nodded at once. Azazel took that as a sign to continue.
"First, the Sitri Familia. You'll be on guard around Kyoto Station. Your job is to defend the hotel. It's already protected by a strong barrier, so we should be able to avoid the worst if everything goes bottom up. Still, if any suspicious characters get near, your task is to deal with them."
"Okay!" Everyone from Sitri's peerage agreed at once.
"Next up, the Gremory Familia, Irina, Asia and Issei. Sorry about always throwing you in the deep end, but you're on the offense. You all are some of the strongest members we have amongst us right now, and you all have extensive combat experience with each other. Once we're done here, I want you to head to Nijo Castle. To be honest, your enemy is gonna be an unknown quantity. This could end up being a dangerous gamble, but your first priority is to rescue Princess Yasaka. Get her and escape ASAP. Hopefully, that will be enough to muck up their little plan. There's always a chance they were lying about that test, but given Cao Cao's attitude, it could be true. Then again, it could have all just been a plot to get us involved."
