Chapter Song: New England - Aryia

-

Our first vacation with Levi and as a family of three was to New York City. He was just under two months old during our visit but I couldn't get a passport for him until we were two weeks away from our travel date and had to show up to LA's passport agency 14 days before we were set to travel with a printed online form, proof of Levi's US citizenship – in this case his birth certificate and a photocopy; as well as a photocopy and our IDs – driving licenses; parental consent which we both gave by showing up to the appointment together; a photo of Levi – which took a little over half an hour for us to get because of how sleepy he was, although we did manage to get one of him when we'd given him his rattle; and then paid the fee at our appointment.

It took an additional ten days for the passport to arrive back with Levi's birth certificate and I was glad that they'd come four days before we were due to travel because – according to Aryia – I was being troublesome for worrying about it too much.

For our trip, we stayed at The Empire Hotel. $200 per night but completely worth it for the floor-to-ceiling window view. Levi even got his own double bed while Aryia and I slept in the one next to him, so comfort wasn't even an issue; in fact, we all slept like logs.

While we were in New York, Aryia conducted a few work meetings with brand deals and other businessy stuff and we met up with Benjamin Seda after he was finished, stopping over at his apartment with Levi who he was meeting for the first time.

Though considering how much he kept wriggling and making grabby hands for us – more specifically me – I didn't think he really liked his uncle Benji all that much. But I just guessed that he'd warm up to him in time.

For our final day in the big apple, we had a small picnic in the park outside the hotel. Aryia and I shared empanadas while I fed Levi his bottle. Though our baby seemed even more fascinated by a band that were playing in the street than his milk, which made me think that he might enjoy music more than Aryia and I initially thought.

...

Once we got back to LA, we decided to take a break for a few days, relaxing as a family and taking Levi on our morning and afternoon walks with Ronnie and Zeke before we got back into work.

I'd picked up my job where I'd left off, and although things weren't as busy as before, I still had a good time tutoring music to my students – even if Aryia kept distracting me with photos of him and Levi during certain lessons every 20 minutes. And even though it was distracting, I appreciated the sentiment and found it pretty cute. He was absolutely smitten with Levi and it showed in the photos he was taking of the two of them together.

Him and Levi at Ralph's where he looked really focused on a watermelon; him and Levi at clothing stores shopping for baby clothes – which I had to admit were all adorable; a clip of Aryia writing music with Levi on his lap absolutely entranced by the sound; Levi during his naptime; and a clip of Levi being held his uncle Kévin while the boys watched a movie in the living room that made me giggle from how it was. It made me a little jealous to know that the boys were having such a fun time without me, but after my final client for the day I wouldn't have any more appointments for my business for at least a couple of weeks, courtesy of us filming the second part of Candyland.
