Hey guys, welcome to Rhyme 10 😊

This chapter was kinda stressful to write since I didn't really know what to do for it (and that's another reason why I'm only updating once a week for a little bit) but I eventually managed to figure out a decent flow for it 😅

Saying this however, I did enjoy writing this part (even if it was a bit stressful, it was a nice kind of stress lolol) and it properly introduces characters like Evra's older brother Nick, his wife Chanel and their daughter Gabby (all of whom like the many OCs in this series are based on people that me and my bestie know: Nick being based on my older cousin, Chanel being based on someone from my placement teams and Gabby being based on my second cousin). I'm sorry if this chapter is short and that not much really happens but it does give some insights to Evie's childhood and her relationships with her family members, so I hope you guys look forward to reading that 😊

And without any further ado, I hope you all enjoy this week's chapter 😊😌

Chapter Song: 2009 - Aryia

-

When it came to planning Levi's first birthday, Aryia and I might have been the worst planners ever.

Aryia didn't like celebrating his own birthday – since to him it was just like any other day. Though I always made every effort to make his birthday celebrations a little meaningful by at least taking him out for dinner or doing something special like telling him that I was pregnant.

As for my birthdays, well, Aryia always insisted on doing something special for me too. Last years had last one had been sweet after he treated me to coffee and a relaxing day at the beach before we went out for dinner that evening (despite having tour around the corner), and he'd followed that up with a romantic candlelit bath with rose petals leading up to and floating in the tub.

But when it came to celebrating Levi's birthday – more specifically: his first birthday – we really had no idea what we were doing.

"Aryia?" I asked my boyfriend a few weeks before Levi was turning one.

"Hm? Yeah?" He asked, turning to me with oven gloves on after he'd just put dinner in the oven.

"What're we doing for Levi's first birthday?"

"Um... I really don't know."

"Well... don't we have to do something?" I asked.

He took the gloves off and stared at me curiously. "Uh..."

"I mean, for his first birthday aren't we supposed to like... throw a party or something?"

"Do you wanna throw a party?" He asked me.

"I don't know. Maybe? I just wanna be a good mom!" I said, feeling my cheeks heat up.

Aryia smirked in response to the blush on my face. "Do you wanna invite people over?"

"It's Valentine's Day. And as selfish as it sounds, I don't want them to go out of their way when it's the most romantic day of the year."

"Levi's birthday though." He reminded me.

"Should we do a party?"

"We could do it with the five of us." He shrugged.

...

On Valentine's day, we woke up at 8:14am.

I'd managed to fix my work schedule so I wouldn't have to teach music on Valentine's day and I had a feeling that most of my clients were happy about this – especially the moms – since they were spending the day and evenings with their significant others and families. Besides which, it was a relief to stay at home and relax with Levi and Aryia on our baby boy's first birthday.
