Just a filler week for this week guys, but I managed to finish one of the longer main chapters after my lecture on Monday so there'll be something for you guys to look forward to when it comes out :3

Thankfully uni aren't giving us any real assignments (seriously, one's a conversation type thing, then there's a literature review and a group presentation), so I have a bit more time to write more chapters out, and then I have a whole month off for the end of my semester, so I have a good 4-5 months to get as much stuff out as possible :3

So I really hope you guys look forward to this chapter and the next ones coming soon ^u^

WARNINGS: None.

Chapter Song: SaturdayMorningCartoons - Aryia

-

There came that magical time in a child's life where without fail, they would use one word on repeat for what felt like months.

The word in question was of course: "why"

Because toddlers questioned everything and the response to every answer of course had to be an additional "why", until the long suffering parent became trapped in a never ending spiral.

Of course, at the same time "why" showed up, it attached itself to a question with a likely impossible answer.

"Why is the sky blue?"

"Why do turtles move so slow?"

"Why are tables made of wood?"

There weren't always suitable answers for these questions, and when in doubt, people usually fell back on the tried and true: "Because I said so."

That satisfied most kids.

But Levi Emrani wasn't like most kids.

Levi was tenacious and curious and had a mindset beyond most other kids his age, and we often wondered what we did to be put through Levi's relentless questioning about how the world worked.

Because Levi didn't stop at "Why", which meant that the "Because I said so" answer wasn't appropriate.

Levi was always ahead of us and preferred to ask: "How?"

"How did you and Momma meet?"

For a moment, Aryia pretended he hadn't heard the question. While I was busy making lunch, my boys were lounging on the couch, watching something brightly colored and voiced like Bluey on the TV. Aryia had been half asleep, sprawled lengthways with Levi sitting on his stomach when our toddler's voice snapped him awake.

When Aryia opened his eyes, Levi was peering at him expectantly, looking at him with green eyes and a fluffy tuft of dark hair tied at the back of his head after asking me to style it like when Aryia had his Eren Yeager hairstyle – describing it as "Papi's poofy floofy hair". Aryia told me before that he missed the brief days before verbal communication entered the equation with Levi but I knew he was only joking and even when he was tired, he was as happy as I was to answer any and all of our son's incessant questions, no matter how troublesome they were.

Aryia sighed. "Why?"

"Kids ask why. Grown-ups answer." Levi pointed out.

He sighed again, making Levi giggle even harder. I knew he put Levi's frequent questioning down to my attitude flare-ups and I found it a little funny that he did. Though he probably thought about me being a troublesome kid every time Levi looked at him with a pout the way he was currently doing. But nonetheless he still cleared his throat to stall for an age-appropriate answer. "We met at a bar downtown."
