I'm actually gonna cry about finishing book 2 guys, but it happened 😭
I know I promised that I would upload it last night but I had a really long week of placement shifts, so when I got home, I just slept 😅 BUT I did realize that I hadn't posted the epilogue as soon as I woke up, so that's what I'm doing on this chill Saturday morning 😅
Thank you all so so SO much for reading book 2 and this series, I really truly appreciate it :')
Book 2 is probably my least favorite part because it's so stop-starty, but I've still enjoyed writing it. There are also a few things you might have picked up on throughout this book that connect to the next one, so if you haven't and want to, please go back and try and pick them out if you didn't before, I promise they'll link well to the next book in the series 👀
I've already started writing book 3 and I'm 11 chapters in with a whopping 34 left to go, but I'm loving every second of writing it (hence why it's my favorite in the series). I don't have a scheduled post date but I was thinking of publishing the first part on my last Wednesday of placement (2nd April 2025), but I'll decide closer to the time and when I've written a lot more (if not, I might upload on that Friday instead)
Either way though, I hope you all enjoy this final chapter from book 2 :')

Chapter Song: My World - Avril Lavigne

As the new year approached, Aryia and I started talking more seriously about our future. We hadn't discussed it in depth yet, but we were clear on our shared visions. We pictured more days like these: more snow days, more quiet mornings, more holidays spent together. We had built something strong together, and we were going to hold onto it.
One night, as the first of January approached, we sat on the couch with Jax nestled in between us and Levi asleep in his bedroom. The house was quiet, save for the soft ticking of the clock and the occasional crackle of the fire in the hearth.
"Do you think next year'll be better?" I asked quietly as I leaned against him. I was exhausted, but happy – content with where we were, even if it was all still so new and unpredictable.
"I think it'll be exactly what we make it." Aryia smiled, his hand brushing my hair away from my face. "With the four of us, there was nothing we couldn't do."
I smiled, looking down at Jax, who was asleep in his father's arms. "We've come a really long way, haven't we?"
Aryia nodded, pressing a soft kiss to the top of my head, "We really have, and this is only the beginning."
As we sat there, basking in the quiet of our home, I felt a sense of peace settling over me. We had our little family, we had each other, and no matter what the future held, it was more than enough.
The new year was coming, and with it, there was a whole world of possibilities. But for now, we were exactly where we needed to be; together, as a family, with all the love we could possibly need. And it was perfect.
...
New Year's Eve arrived with a chill in the air, but the warmth of the house made it feel like a sanctuary. The twinkling Christmas lights were still up, casting a soft, festive glow around the living room, though most of the holiday decorations had been put away. Aryia and I had decided to keep things simple this year, a family celebration, just the four of us, reflecting on the year that had passed and looking ahead to the one to come.
Levi was buzzing with excitement, wearing his favorite wolf onesie, ready for the countdown. He'd been asking all day when we could start the New Year's party.
