Hi Guys! Happy Wednesday :3

I'm almost finished with that long chapter, just got the last part to do and I can bridge some of the written parts again :)

This part is a filler but it's a cute lil one shot of Aryia and Evie on a date while his mom babysits Levi so I hope you enjoy it 😊

Chapter Song: Little Life - Cordelia

-

"There's a change of clothes, blankets, a bottle and two bags of formula just in case. Diapers, pacifiers, his favorite books, his favorite toys and music are in the–"

Aryia's mom smiled at me affectionately as my list prattled on. I didn't think that she could be happier that I was Aryia's girlfriend and her grandson's mom. She was a prudent courageous woman but she also didn't let either of us slack off. But besides that, she was fair and kind, and a dedicated mom. Aryia told me that after I'd first spoken to his mom she told him that I reminded her of herself when she was younger.

Aryia was standing a step behind me, showing me that he was clearly more eager to leave.

"Evra, please don't worry. I've taken care of a baby before. He'll never leave my sight."

It was date night for me and Aryia. We hadn't had much time to spend as a couple recently due to our crazy schedules and Aryia's mom had kindly offered to babysit after Kévin and Eileen were in New York for a work event. This was also the first time that Levi would be spending the night with a member of one of our families and I was certain that she wouldn't waste a second of their time together. Aryia was actually the one to suggest the idea and according to his mom had practically begged his mom to help persuade me to take the night off from parenting to go on a date which were a bit of a rarity these days, as since he'd been born, I'd admittedly been exceptionally protective of my baby boy.

"I'm sorry. I know that but it's just..." I stared longingly at my toddler in his grandma's arms. He seemed happy to be with her. From the amount of times she'd visited us since his birth so it was no wonder that Levi had grown so familiar with her. Levi had been babysat before, just never by any of our close family members.

"Evie, if we stay here any longer the restaurant'll be closed by the time we get there." Aryia joked.

We both gave him a disgruntled look, causing him to swallow nervously in response, taking a small step backwards. It looked like she could sympathize with me leaving Levi for the first time – even for a few hours – was no easy task. Though I think she also understood that this wouldn't be a regular thing. According to Aryia, we needed this time together. So she took one of Levi's hands and waved it at us.

"Bye, bye, Momma! Bye, bye, Papi!" She chimed. "We're going to have a good time."

"Bye, bye, Levi." I said softly, stepping forwards and kissing Levi on the forehead for what was at least the twentieth time before reluctantly turning to Aryia.

"Call us if you need anything." Aryia said, dragging me towards the driveway.

...

I looked at the restaurant menu but Aryia could apparently tell that my eyes were unfocused. And if that was the case, he was right. My mind was focused on the EEAK house and Levi.

"Hey, my mom might be a little scary sometimes, but she's more than capable of looking after Levi for one night." He reasoned. "Try not to worry about it, 'kay?" He suggested with a smile, finger dancing delicate circles into the palm of my hand.

"I know." I sighed.

We were both emotional people, but it looked like Aryia was going to be the voice of reason tonight, finally resting his hand on top of mine properly and giving me a soft smile as my attention finally rested firmly on him.
