Sid and Mahira tried to initiate the talk many times but it ended with a short straightforward reply. They asked a bit about their education and career and soon they didn't have any topic further. They were in quite an awkward situation now. They both were eagerly waiting for the waiter to come and put an end to this cumbersome moment. And to both of their relief, the waiter came with their order. He set it on the table and left.
Sid: Umm shall we?
He asked with a small smile.
Mahira: Ya...sure
She nodded. They had their order in complete silence.
Sid: Anything else you want to eat or shall I ask for the bill?
Mahira: No I am done. Thanks
Sid nodded and signalled the waiter to bring the bill. Mahira took out her purse.
Sid: Heyy!! I got that. It's fine
He said taking out his wallet in a hurry.
Mahira: No probs. I will pay. That's fine
Sid paid the bill anyway.
Sid: So it's a bye then
Mahira: I guess
She said putting her hair flick behind her ear.
Sid: Okk bye then
Mahira: Bye
She said with a sweet smile and left. Sid sighed in relief finally.
Sid: Oh God!!! Can dates be this awkward? I never knew it
He anyways went to the parking lot, hopped on his bike and left for his home. He rang the bell and Zalak opened the door.
Zalak: So how was your first date, Mr. Nigam? And what do you think about my bhabhi?
She said in a teasing way. Sid rolled his eyes and showed his middle finger.
Sid: Fuck off
He said walking inside.
Zalak: Asshole
She muttered on his back.
Sid: Sun lia maine
Zalak: Hnn hnn iraada bhi wahi tha
She shut the door in anger and ran behind him.
Vibha: Kon tha Zalak?
She looked up and frowned. Sid sat down on the sofa removing his shoes.
Vibha: Tu itni jaldi aa gya?
Sid hmmed not knowing what to say.
Vibha: Bata bhi kuch. Kaisi lagi wo? Aur thoda aur time beth lete. Kahi ghoom aate. Itni jaldi aane ki kya zaroorat thi
Sid: Mom aapne milkar aane ko bola tha. Ab kitni der ke lie milna hai, ye to decide nhi hua tha na
Vibha: Achha chhod tu. Wo to fir mil sakta hai? Tu bata kaisi lagi?
Sid: Hnn theek hai
Vibha: Theek hai matlab baat aage badae?
Sid: Mom kya matlab? I said achhi hai theek hai but nhi mein usse shaadi nhi kar sakta
Vibha: Kyu agar achhi lagi to kya problem hai?
Sid: Mom look wo achhi hai but achha hona is not all to get married to someone. Aapko pata waha hum almost one and half hours to two hours saath bethe aur honestly it was quite awkward for both of us. Hum to baat bhi nhi kar paaye. Aur agar achhi bhi lage, company enjoy bhi karte to bhi ma do ghante time spend karna aur saari life saath rehna. How are they even same?
Vibha: Dekh tujhe nhi achhi lagi koi nhi. Aur bohot ladkia hai. Maine aur bhi ladkia pasand ki hai. Mein aur kisi se milne ki baat kar leti hu. Tu tension matt le. Tujhe nhi achhi lagi to mein tujhe koi force nhi karoongi. Maine pehle bhi bola tha na tereko. Mein kal hi bulati hu. Isse bhi achhi ladki hai
Sid sighed holding his head.
Sid: Mom aap meri baat hi nhi samaj rahe ho
Zalak: Ma Sid ab bass hnn. Abhi to wo milkar aaya aapki baat maankar na mom ab usse bhi thoda time do
Ram: Hnn Vibha ab mujhe bhi lagta hai ab zyada ho raha hai. Wo abhi abhi aaya hai. Aese nhi karo
Vibha: Par-
Sid: (cuts him) Bass ma. Abhi filhaal mein kisi ladki se nhi mil raha. Gimme some time now. This ain't fair. Aur mujhe bass yahi kaam thoda hai ki roz mein ladkio se milne jaata rahu. Nhi kal to bilkul nhi
He walked to his room to get fresh and to avoid this conversation any further. The evening passed away like that. They had their dinner together but no one talked anything about today. Vibha also thought to not raise the topic for a few days as Sid would be angry now for sure and she didn't want that at any cost.
Next morning
Sid and Zalak planned to go to Avu's home. They got ready and came into the living room. Sid went to start his bike.
Vibha: Kahi jaa rahe ho kya tum dono?
Zalak: Hnn maa wo Avni ke ghar par ja rahe the. Shaam tak aa jaayenge. Bye
She left without waiting for any reply.
Vibha's P.O.V.
Issi lie ladki se milne ko mana kia hai Sid ne mujhe pata hai. Uss Avneet ke ghar jo jaana tha. Kehta hai mujhe aur koi kaam nhi kya ladkio se milne ke ilawa. Kaam to saara ye hai.
