Chapter-23
Author's POV
A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she turned and tossed on the bed for the umpteenth time already. She couldn't take his warning off of her mind and sleep was nowhere near.
She was on the nervous edge as all the worst-case scenarios played in her mind like an old tape record.
His warning rang in her ears like a snoozed alarm.
She tried to ignore it, keep the worry at bay but the fear was crawling up her skin, dismantling her peace.
Sighing, she sat straight on the bed, and held the phone in her hands, contemplating whether to do it or not.
She had three choices.
One, ignore his warnings, and threats and sleep as if nothing happened.
Two, Ignoring his warning knowing that his threats aren't empty and facing the consequences.
Three, Begging him not to hurt Ved and Aryan.
Out of three, the last option seemed sensible and wise.
After knowing everything about Ratha's cruelty, she'd be doomed if she ignored his warning.
Heaving a determined sigh, she clicked on an oddly familiar unsaved number. Her hands shook as she pressed the call button.
It was 3 at midnight and she thought he wouldn't pick up the call. It'd be fair if he didn't receive her call. It's late night and he would be asleep or so she thought.
When the call didn't connect after three rings, her shoulders drooped in defeat. She was about to throw the phone back on the bed when he received the call.
Her heart started beating faster. But she wasted no time to convey whatever she wanted to.
" I don't want you to kill Aryan and Ved. Please...there is nothing between us. Please don't hurt them, Shiva. Can you please let it go? I am really scared and I cannot sleep. I'm trying but I know your threats aren't empty. It's making me insane. I feel really bad...please...don't hurt them or anyone for that matter. I know you are probably asleep and not even listening to me, but please don't do anything." she whined, even cried.
After what happened, Shiva left in fury. When he got home, it was already over 12.
He was angry and even asked Mansoor to gather information about Ved. Of course, he wasn't letting it go. That guy hugged her and he would investigate everything about him before cleaning the mess.
He couldn't actually sleep after seeing those pics. He felt like barging inside her home, dragging her to his mansion and locking her up with him. He wanted to punish her for letting other men touch her. He wanted to do so many things, fucking her until she realised who owned her was the first thing.
He even thought of watching her but then, he knew if he watched her, the urge to sneak inside her room and punish her would increase. So, he decided otherwise.
He was lying on the bed, stalking her profile. He couldn't sleep nor could he take her off of his mind. Although he had done it many times, he stalked her Instagram profile again and again.
Although it was three in the midnight, sleep was nowhere near him.
That fierce kiss was replaying in his mind. He knew he was rough and it didn't bother him even the slightest bit. What annoyed him was her tears. She looked so helpless and he couldn't take that image off of his mind. Her tear-soaked face, red-shot teary eyes, and quivering lips did something that was unfamiliar.
