Chapter-69

Author's POV

The golden rays of the rising sun peeked through the curtains, casting a warm glow into the room

The house was filled with soft laughter and gentle whispers.

Excitement twinkled in their eyes as they climbed the stairs together, approaching the door of a particular room.

They gently tapped on it and walked inside since the door was open.

Inside the cosy room, she lay on the bed, the soft quilt covered her body.

A beautiful smile appeared on their lips seeing their granddaughter. It's been more than two months since they saw her.

While Sarojini held the teacup, Raman bent slightly and cupped her face.

Their voices blended with tender affection as they called out, "Good morning, dear Pari. It's time to wake up." Their words carried the immense love they had for their granddaughter, and it reverberated through the room.

Parul's heart filled with warmth and joy as she heard the familiar voices.

Parul snapped her eyes open and they widened with delight as she heard her grandparents' familiar voices. "Ammamma, Thatha.." she couldn't believe it was true.

She jumped into a sitting position and threw her arms around the old man.

" I missed you" she whispered, snuggling her face in his chest.

Raman gently patted her back and kissed her forehead. She embraced Sarojini tightly and kissed her cheeks.

She missed the comforting familiarity of their touch.

" I love you so much" She kissed them again, her honey pools glistening with love for them.

They smiled. " Hurry up, we don't have much time.." Sarojini placed the empty tea cup on the nightstand and patted her shoulders.

Parul's brows twitched in confusion.

She nearly forgot to ask something important.

Why they were here?

" When did you come? And why should I hurry?" she looked at them with lost eyes.

Raman and Sarojini exchanged a look before smiling at her heartily.

" Because..." Raman grinned. Parul wanted to know what was happening. " Thatha..." she called, eagerly batting her lashes.
" Because Shiva's family is coming here to discuss the marriage" Sarojini chirped and the smile on her face, dimmed slightly.

But she covered up immediately. She didn't want them to doubt anything.

" Oh... surprise..." she gave them a sarcastic smile and disappeared inside the bathroom to freshen up for the day.

Rao's residence was lightened up with love, laughter and chatter. Everyone was gathered for the joyous occasion.

And it was happening.

Shiva's family would be coming to Rao's residence to discuss the marriage.

Aditi was braiding Parul's hair, while she sat there like a doll, without speaking anything.

Aditi understood her silence while the others mistook it as nervousness.

Pinning the Jasmine flower to her wavy locks, she smiled, looking at her through the mirror.
