When he finally sees you: Donnie

It's been about 4 months since you woke up in that hospital and today you're finally getting released.

You don't remember what happened. You don't even remember what your name is. When you woke up that day, you were scared and confused.

You didn't know who you were or where you were.

A girl named April claimed she was your best friend. She came to visit you almost every day for the 4 months you were in the hospital.

She told you about your life. What it was like, and who was involved in it.

She told you that you had a "group" you and her always hung out with.

There was Casey, Mikey, Leo, Raph, and Donnie.

She would usually talk about Donnie. She would always say how close you two were. You felt like there was something she wasn't telling you, but you would usually let it go.

As you got back to your house, April and your parents showed you around. They tried to show you things that might trigger some memories, but nothing worked.

Your parents left you and April alone in your room. They figured April would have a better chance at jogging some of your memories.

You sat down on your bed.

"So... I, uh... told Donnie he could come over and visit you." April said.

"Why are you saying that like it's a bad thing?" You ask.

"Cuz there's something I haven't told you yet. Two things, actually." April said.

I knew it! You thought.

Instead of saying that, you just nodded.

"First... he's more then just your friend." April said.

It took you a few seconds to realize what she ment, but then your eyes widened.

It all made sense. The way she would always say something good about him, and how she dropped what you now see was subtle hints.

"How long?" You ask.

"Before your accident, you'd been dating for almost four months." she said.

"So... 8 months, now?" You ask.
April nodded.

"...How far have we... ya know... gotten?" You ask.

"You've only been to first base, but... he's in love with you, and you felt the same before... ya know."

We love each other?? You think.

"What's the second thing?" You ask.

"Him and his brothers are different." She said.

"Different, how?"

"You'll see when he gets here, just... don't freak out, kay?" April said.

You wanted to keep asking questions, but you decided to not ask, cuz you didn't wanna push your luck.

About 2 minutes later, you heard a knock on the window.

The window? You thought.

April opened up the window and in came... a giant turtle?

You felt like you should've been scared, but you weren't.

"H-Hey." He stuttered and gave you a small wave.

You smiled and waved back. "Hey, Donnie."

His face went from nervous, to confused.

"I know I should be afraid of you, but I'm not." You said, shrugging your shoulders.

A smile spread across his face.

He came over to you and keeled down next to the bed.

He cupped his hands around your face and said, "Just let me look at you for a minute."

For a whole minute, he just looked at you with affection and used his thumb to rub your face every once in a while.

After the minute, he let go and put his hands in your lap.

A tear went down his face.

You wiped it away with your thumb.

He looked into your eyes.

"I love you, (y/n). I knew you probably don't feel the same way, and that's ok. I'll respect your privacy if you don't wanna see me anymore." he said, obviously on the verge of tears.

You sighed.

"You obviously feel strongly about me, and apparently I did, too. If it's okay with you, I'd like to keep a relationship going, but not starting where we left off. Let's just be friends for a little while. I'm not saying no, I just wanna get to know you. Remember, for me, this is the first time I've ever met you. I can't just hop back into a relationship I was never apart of. When I feel like I'm ready to start a romantic relationship, I'll let you know. But for now, let's start over. Get to know each other all over again. I know that's probably not the answer you were looking for, but it's the best one I can give you." you say.

Throughout that talk, a few more tears fell down his face, but he nodded in agreement.

"I couldn't ask for any more." he said.

"Why don't we start right now?" You ask.

"I'd like that." he said with a smile.
