Chapter 19

Mahir: He, he was in coma for 1 year. Uske baad aaj tak he is suffering. He gets nightmares and panic attacks. He is no more the same Veer. It's been 3 years after he was up from coma.

Mahir said crying. Kartik was caressing Veer's hairs. Dr. was sadly glancing all. He kept his hand on Raghav's shoulder who was all numb. That's when Veer's body showed some tremors. Sweat pooled on his face. He was squeezing his eyes tightly. Kartik and Mahir understood that he was having that nightmare again. They quickly comforted Veer and tried to wake him up. Veer woke up with a jerk and started looking around in panic.

Kartik: Shh! Nothing happened, baccha. You're fine.

Veer let in those words and relaxed seeing his brothers. But as his gaze felt on Raghav, he got scared and crawled behind when Raghav took a step towards him. Kartik and Mahir were confused on Veer's behaviour.

Raghav: I'm really sorry, Veer! I didn't knew that you have suffered a lot. And also there were some misunderstandings. I'm really sorry! I was not supposed to do that. Because of me, you landed on the hospital bed. I'm responsible for your this condition. Please forgive me.

Raghav was crying. Veer was shocked by sudden changed behaviour of Raghav. He thought that Raghav might be acting but that did seemed genuine. Who in the world would cry for landing the person in hospital when he himself want to hurt him or use him? Veer was not understanding what to do. He was not getting if Raghav was acting or not. But he was shocked by the scene he saw the next.Mahir hugged Raghav, consoling him and telling him that he was at no fault. Veer was not believing his eyes. But what shocked Veer more was that Raghav was acknowleding Kartik as 'Bhai'.

Veer's POV ( in italics)
Why in the world is Raghav Sir adressing my brother as Bhai? Do my brothers know Raghav Sir? But how? And if they are on good terms, then why in the world do Raghav Sir wanted to hurt my brothers? What is Raghav...um...Raghav Sir upto? Kuch samajh nahi aa raha. Exactly Raghav...um..Sir karna kya chahte hai? Or is he trying to gain the sympathy of my brothers? Argh! Kuch samajh nahi aa raha. The way he is crying, it looks genuine. But is it really genuine? Kya pata vonatak kar rahe ho? Kahi vo Bhai ka bharosa jeetke mujhe unse dur to nahi kar rahe?

He was disturbed by a sound. He saw Kartik calling him.

Kartik: Veer, you ok? Kya hua hai? Kaha khoye ho? Dekhona, Raghav tumse baat kar raha hai. Ab tum hi batao use ki uski koi galti nahi hai. Mai batake thak gaya par ye sunta hi nahi hai. 

Mahir: Aur nahi to kya? Mera buddy aisa kar hi nahi sakta. Veer, vaise bhi vo tumhara senior aur dost hai na, to tum hi batao. Sirf tumhari sunega ye.

Buddy? Mahir bhaiyya inhe pehle se jante hai? And mere dost? I think unhone jhut bola hai Bhai aur Bhaiyya se about what happened before and also about what actual relation we share, which is of a bully and victim. But I can feel that he is surely not lying, nor he is acting as I can clearly see he is really feeling guilty. I think I should also hide the truth from Bhai and Bhaiyya.

Their blind trust was drowning Raghav in the sea of guilt. He was biting his lips, looking down. He looked up when Veer called him.

Veer (trying not to shutter): You are at no fault. Don't blame yourself.

That's it. Raghav started crying as he clearly knows that he is only responsible for it and the only one to be blame. Without knowing, he came near Veer and hugged him tightly leaving Veer in an utter shock.

What? Is he in real? Matlab ek pal ke liye he would be really rude and would try to hurt me aur dusre hi pal he would care for me. Who in the world behaves like this? Do he have bipolar disease or what? Fraction of seconds me inke emotions hi change ho jate hai. Fine! But I need to console him. I don't know why, but I don't want this hug to be broken. I-I am feeling peace in this hug. A very different feeling. A familiar feeling. Oh God! What's happening with me? Mujhe aaj tak Bhai aur Bhaiyya ke sivaay kisike hug me aisa peace nahi mila. Phir inke kyu? Argh! Someone help me! God help me please!

Veer unknowingly hugged Raghav back. Raghav gained his composure and broke the hug. He was not making an eye contact with anyone.

Raghav: Bhai, agar aapki ijajat ho, to can I talk with Veer alone? Mujhe kuch baat karni hai usse akele me. Can I?

What? Akele me? No no no. Bhai please no. Bhagwan ji, kyu aisa khel khelte ho mere saath? Ek pal ke liye aisa feel karate ho ki vo acche hai par dusre hi pal mujhe galat sabit thara dete ho. I know, ab ye definately aage kya karna ye batayenge. Matlab this all was a drama. Drama for gaining Bhai and Bhaiyya's trust. Please Bhai inhe akele me baat mat karne dena. Please.

Veer's hope crashed down when he heard Kartik saying Yes to Raghav. Kartik along with Mahir and Dr. Singhania went outside Veer's cabin, where he was admitted.
(I know maine starting me Dr. Patel likhke intro me Naitik Singhania likh diya. I'm sorry for that but dr ka name Naitik Singhania hai. I'll write Naitik for his dialouges. Sorry if that led to any misunderstandings or misconceptions.)

Why Bhai why? Ab kya karu mai? Please God, save me. Bhagwan ji, atleast ye baat to man lo.
End of Veer's POV

Raghav: Veer, I'm genuinely sorry. Mujhe sach me nahi pata tha ki tumhara koi past hai. Aur na hi mujhe pata tha ki tumhare Bhai Kartik Bhai hai, mere Dada ke friend aur Mahir ke bhai. Infact mujhe nahi pata tha ki Mahir aur Kartik Bhai ko ek chota bhai hai jo ki tum ho. I'm really sorry. Meri bajase tum, infact Mahir aur Kartik Bhai bhi hurt hue. Actually I misunderstood Sehegal Company's owner aur mujhe tumhare bare me pata bhi nahi tha to... Infact jitna mujhe pata tha, unka chota bhai... uh kuch nahi. I'm sorry. I knowki mera sorry tumhe diya hua dard nahibhula sakta but... I'm really sorry. Ho sake to maaf karna.

He was about to leave when Veer stopped him.

Veer: Par Sir, aapne aisa kyu kiya? Why you wanted to destroy Sehegal Company's owner?

Raghav stiffened at the question. He didn't expected that question. He could not answer Veer's question atleast till he don't get Veer's proper information, clearing his doubt.

Raghav: I-I can't tell you. It's something you shouldn't know. Atleast not right now. You are too small to handle it. But I assure you, as now I have got to know who the real owner is, I won't harm him at any cost. Don't worry, Kartik Bhai mere bhi Bhai hai, and I will not do anything which will hurt him. Aur aaj se tum bhimere Bhai ho, so I will take care ki no one harms you. It's a promise. An elder brother's promise.

He merely whispered the last words while a  tear leaked from Raghav's eyes while saying those.

Veer: But Sir..

He was cut off by Raghav.

Raghav: Sir nahi, Bhai. Aaj se tu mujhe Bhai bulayega, if you are comfortable. Hope you would. Take rest, Veer. From tomorrow, you would witness the real Raghav, yje Raghav who is only witnessed by his family. And now, you are also my family. Iknow, maine jo kuch kiya hai tumhare saath, it's difficult for you to forgive but please give me a chance to prove myself.

Veer: It's ok. I can understand. There might be a reason behind your behaviour. But I need time. I just can't forget all that. I can't forget the words I said to Bhai and Bhaiyya because of you. I can't.

He teared up speaking. Raghav gently hugged him and Veer too cried feeling the warmth in his hug. He opened up all his feelings which he was hiding from his brothers. Unknowingly, he was indeed complaining Raghav for what he had to do because of him. It was looking same as a brother complaining and putfoething all his worries infront of his elder brother. This was something, Veer never did with Kartik or Mahir. Raghav was also feeling connected to Veer. Infact he was loving Veer's sudden shower of feelings. He caressed Veer's hairs to calm him. After pouring out all the feelings he had subsided in this 1 week, he felt relaxed. 

A long chapter after a long time.
