Nightmare

Charlie's POV:

I wake up instantly from a really bad nightmare I had been having. Screaming, I jolt to sit up and try to breathe but it just turns into a panic attack.

Nick's POV:

I hear a scream and instantly jolt awake sitting up to see Charlie sitting up shaking and crying. His breaths are short and shallow. Knowing he's having panic attack, I move slowly and place my hand on his arm, making him jump slightly.

"hey, it's just me darling, what' going on?" I ask in concern. He hasn't calmed down in the slightest so I just pull him into me hugging him tightly and begin rubbing gentle circles on his back, doing my best to soothe him.

"Shhhh" I soothe continuing to rub his back. "You're safe I promise, I've got you." I say

His crying and breathing settle down a bit and he looks up at me, tears filling his eyes. I kiss his forehead gently.

"I'm s-sorry, he starts" I- I didn't mean to wake you."

"baby, it's alright, honestly." I reply as he sits up a bit more.

"can you tell me what happened." I ask gently. Charlie grips my hand tightly beginning to tell me about the nightmare he had, which had been horrible and included him being bullied really badly by Harry and Ben. He said they we're about to hit him but that's when he woke up in so much terror.

He starts to cry again as he finishes explaining the nightmare.

"I am so sorry my love, I promise you are safe here with me. I won't let anything happen to you." I say holding out my arms as he snuggles into my chest. I lay back down as he lies on top of me nuzzled into my chest.

Charlie's POV:

I've finally calmed down, thanks to Nick, even though I feel terrible about waking him up. he keeps reassuring me that it's no problem, but I tend to overthink and believe I'm annoying. I lean my head up out of his chest, he kisses my forehead gently.

"thank you for waking up to calm me down, you know you didn't have to." I say

"Hey, it's no problem, that's part of the boyfriend description." He says with a light chuckle.

I lean forward kissing him and the kiss deepens a bit but after a few minutes he pull apart and I lay back down laying my head on Nick's chest. He wraps the blanket around us and holds me tightly making me feel so safe in his arms.

"Let's try to go back to sleep yeah?" He says

"Okay." I say as I shut my eyes, feeling extremely relaxed and drift back off to sleep.

Nick's POV:

Charlie had fallen back asleep. I kissed his forehead before falling back asleep myself.
