Romance in the air

Nick's POV:

I have been planning a really romantic outing for me and Charlie for weeks now, planning to propose. Now the day is finally here and I am so nervous, just wanting everything to go right.

I had some of the Paris Squad set up the picnic on the beach where we had out first date, while I am home and Charlie and I are getting ready to head out. I just told him that we are going to the beach to watch the sunset, since that has been on our bucket list for a while, I figured that wouldn't cause too much curiosity from Charlie.

Charlie appears downstairs taking me out of my thoughts.

"Hey, think I'm all set, should we get going?"

"Yup, all set." I reply grabbing a  basket with some blankets, as well as the box with the engagement ring.

We head out to my car and begin the drive to the beach, I had texted the squad once we left letting them know when we would arrive so they could hide.

10 minutes later.

Charlie's POV:

We have just arrived at the beach, with just a little bit until sunset so we have time to find a place to lay out blankets. Nick and I get out of the car as he carries out basket. We walk for a bit when Nick tells me he's got the perfect spot to set up. I nod and he grabs my hand leading me down the beach.

a few minutes later I spot a blanket down on the sand with an arrangement of roses and sweets. Nick leads me over to it and I gasp.

"Nick, did you do all of this?" I ask tears beginning to form.

"I planned the idea, some of the squad helped have this set up.'' He replies laying our other blanket down, I sit down admiring all of this and I didn't even notice what was happening behind me.

I turn around when Nick says my name and I see him on one knee knealing on the blanket holding a ring.

My hand goes to my mouth as I gasp immeditly getting super emotional.

"Charlie, being with you has been an absolute dream, you truly are my favorite person and I could not imagine my life without you, would you make me the happiest person alive and marry me?" He asks clearly nervous and emotional.

I tackle him into a hug repeating YES, over and over. He laughs standing up and pulling me up with him.

"I love you so much." I say as he places the ring on my finger.

"I love you the most." He replies as he leans in to kiss me.

This has been a dream day and I can't wait to marry my best friend.
