February 14th 2021, Demi's POV...

TW: SA.

As I lay there, staring up at the ceiling, my mind drifted back to the moment we met.

You were so shy, hiding from the world in your baggy hoodie, at the gym. So far into your shell, I wondered if anyone else even knew you were there. Something about you drew me in, and I had to find out more. I struck up a conversation with you, and the more we talked, the more I knew I had to have you in my life. It was like you were a missing puzzle piece, and once I found you, everything clicked into place. When we talked, it was like we had known each other for years. We laughed, we cried, we shared our deepest secrets and our biggest dreams. And now, here we are, on this special day, together.

Kayla moved around in her sleep before finally fluttering her eyes open, gazing up at me with that same smile that had melted my heart the moment I met her. "Morning," she said softly, her voice still groggy from sleep. "Happy Valentine's Day, sweetheart." I leaned in and kissed her softly, feeling her lips part beneath mine. As we continued to kiss, I could feel the warmth of her body pressed against mine, and I knew that I never wanted this moment to end.

"Happy Valentine's Day to you too,"She whispered against my lips. "I love you, Demi, you know that?" She smiled against my mouth before pulling back slightly. "I love you too, princess. I'm so grateful for you." And just like that, she wrapped her arms around me tightly, her head nestled into the crook of my neck.

We lay there in silence for a while, just enjoying the warmth of each other's bodies and the comfort of being together. The sunlight streaming through the curtains cast a soft glow across the room, making everything seem just a little bit brighter. I couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the day would hold for us.

"So, what do you want to do today?" I asked, nuzzling my face into her hair. "Anything special planned?"

"Well you did say you had to go to your parents to see them today, I'll leave you to that. But we can go to a fancy restaurant afterwards if you like." Kayla replied, her voice still muffled from where she was still nestled against my chest. I chuckled and kissed the top of her head.

"Sounds like a good idea, babe."

We open each others presents, I got her a nice bracelet and she got me a rock t shirt, she knew I loved them.

I kissed goodbye to Kayla as I went to my mum and dads, it was a yearly tradition for me to go and see them on Valentine's Day. They were always so happy to see me, I wished Kayla had come but she insisted on staying at home, wanting me to cherish my time with them. After spending some time with them, I walked to the shop to buy myself a coke, why not treat myself? I also got Kayla one.

As I walked out the shop, my mind drifted back to the first time I met Kayla. I could still remember how nervous I was, not knowing what to say or how to act around her. But somehow, we just clicked. It was as if we were always meant to be together. And now, here we were, on Valentine's Day of all days, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for her presence in my life.

I put Kayla's coke in my bag and opened mine, leaving it on the bench I sat on, I quickly rang Kayla, letting her know I'd be home soon, but first I had to ring a taxi. Our car had broken down a few days ago and needed some fixing. I had turned my back to the bench while I spoke to Kayla. But as I ended the call, I turned around to see someone sat on the bench. It was Jessie, of all people.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Demi." She smirked,

"What the fuck? I told you to stay away from me." My heart dropped, it had been months since she cheated on me, I had not forgiven her and had certainly not forgotten. The memory of finding out still burned like acid in my chest.
