To you, your son was your whole entire world, he was your one and only ever since his dad decided to leave you to take care of him by yourself and you decided to keep it that way because it was better to raise your son by yourself without someone who could be unstable enough to break everything you worked for so far, and it has been some good three years, you enjoyed more and more having a kid of your own and it felt so much better to have him as company every day, and you also had a support group around you who every time you needed help they either gave advice or went to help immediately, your parents were the ones to take most of the credit for it but you had a very nice lady living in the apartment beside you to take care of your son every once in a while whenever it was very much needed, but you worked from home so rarely you had to leave your son with someone who wasn't you.

"mama! cereal!" Your son looked at you raising his hands while looking at the pantry, the food was in his reach so whenever he asked for something he either went to you to ask for it and then go to the pantry to take out the food that he needed with your help of course, but now, he was looking at the empty cereal display.

"oh I'm sorry I must've forgot to buy your cereal." You apologized and looked at the top cabinets for some leftover cereal but there really was none. "how about we go and take a trip to the supermarket and get some?" You asked him, he cheered and climbed out of his step stool.

"silly mama! forgot cereal..." He spoke to himself making you laugh, you grabbed some stuff he might need and some stuff you might need, your son was a pretty quick walker, he was a runner really, once he knew how to walk he started to run slowly but once he got the hang of it he rarely stopped only when he was holding your hand and you didn't want to stop him from doing that really so you bought something to keep him close to you whenever you were out with him, in the car he loved pointing out the cars especially the ones that looked like Lightning McQueen or Sally Carrera, ever since you played him the three Cars movies he was non-stop talking about them and you adored to hear him talk about them, he was very happy when he found out that your car was Lightning McQueen, it obviously wasn't it was just a shade of red in the car but he requested a lot to ride on his favorite car. Once in the market he walked happily following you around and sometimes pushing it with you.

"I'm gonna buy some more things while we're at it, okay? so please be patient." You requested from him, he just nodded and obeyed, he was a talkative kid, he liked speaking to strangers who didn't seem scary enough for him it wasn't by their looks really but sometimes he was scared of random people which you understood, you were also afraid of random people in the street sometimes it was very normal. "hey honey, mama is gonna be looking at some stuff right now so please stay here, I don't want you running off." You spoke to him, he nodded and kept playing with his McQueen toy, you sighed and started looking for some of the cheapest options of some things as the ones you especially bought weren't in the shelf today which kind of pissed you off and you needed them as in your house had ran out, but it seemed like there wasn't much that looked similar and cheap, you turned to look for you son to tell him that you could continue with the search for more groceries but he wasn't there. "Charles?" You asked out loud, the bracelet that had you two very much tied to each other was hanging on the floor.

Your chest shrunk with immediate panic setting in your mind, you called for his name multiple times and asked around for the people around you asking them if they had seen your little son, your voice had started to crack with the most horrible thoughts going through your mind, he wasn't a kid to run off that silently, it was the first time he had ever done that before and it wasn't like your mother had joked once about, he was really nowhere to be found and you had started to cry already feeling lost without your son. Meanwhile in the other side of the store, on the toys section he was looking at McQueen toys on display.
