Oscar and you have been childhood friends and kept being so when you moved with your families when you were 16, you moved to Canada, the move was mainly because of a job offer one of your parents had and it went so much better ever since but the decision of leaving was heartbreaking at that point because Oscar was incredibly important for you and still was but it seemed like it would be impossible to keep contact when he had a good career in what was his dream but still managed to keep contact especially since your parents had a good income that was good enough for visiting at least once a year every year after some had already passed, so spending a few days together when you were over in holiday was a must, but once you started studying it was harder for you to see him as your vacations were when he was travelling the world when he was in F2, but once he was in F1 it was a lot harder, he was a rookie and barely even starting and now it seemed like things had settled back down, and you were very close to graduating soon from college and you decided to go back to Australia and get a job in engineering.

"so how have the races been right now?" You asked to Oscar while you made dinner, he was in video call from his hotel room, it wasn't routine but it was common for you to video call whenever there was time.

"pretty good, Australia was really good but couldn't make it to the podium, but I did end up in fourth." He sounded pretty happy about his results.

"oh! Oscar that's amazing!" You exclaimed happy for his results, he smiled and rested his chin against his arm. "how do your parents feel?" You asked smiling at him leaving the food under slow fire and to pay complete attention to him.

"they're happy about it, you know how they are." He said, you felt like you could make eye contact with him but of course it was impossible he was in your phone miles away.

"of course I know! Your whole family must be so proud of you Oscar!" You cheered. "I'm proud of you, you've come so incredibly far." You smiled, he smiled widely.

"you are?" He asked, you nodded.

"if you were right here I would hug you and tell it to your face, you're amazing!" You smiled, he stared at the phone and smiled really endeared with what you said, he did too want to see you, he was slightly blushing, he looked at the time and sighed.

"alright, it's way too late for me, I have to rest for tomorrow, I have training." He spoke, you pouted.

"ooh, okay that's okay." You spoke.

"I'll text you tomorrow?" He said, you nodded and confirmed him.

"honey I'm home!" Your roommate shouted as they made an entrance.

"fuck... goodnight, Oscar." You smiled nicely.

"yeah goodnight!" He was cut off before he could say another thing, you saved your phone in your pocket and turned.

"for fucks sake, Andy!" You said, they had the rare way of always greeting you like that.

"what?" They asked putting the groceries down in the counter. "did I do something wrong?" They asked.

"...no, but, now Oscar is going to think that I'm dating someone!" You leaned into the kitchen counter.

"OH! Oscar like Aussie buddy Oscar?" They asked in a playful tone.

"what do you mean 'Aussie buddy Oscar'?" You asked confused, they chuckled.

"like your 'best friend' crush Oscar?" They asked, you frowned.
