Maya~

"Maya, I brought this for you to look at," Alecia tells me as I walk into the living room.

"What's that?"

"It's Christian's baby book."

"Oh, I cannot wait to see this."

I sit next to her on the couch. She hands me the book. I start at the beginning. "He was a little bald baby? I was betting on her having a ton of hair."

She laughs, "Bald. His hair came in pretty fast though. Were you?"

"No, I had a ton of hair."

"She'll probably get your genes."

"I hope. But he's got good hair now."

I keep going through the book, "He's so cute."

"Did you get your 4D ultrasound?"

"Yeah, they're on the fridge."

She gets up and gets them. "Do you have a baby picture on you?"

I look through my mom and I's messages to find the baby pictures that she has sent me. I hand her my phone. She finds one of Christian to compare.

"What do you think? Who does she look like?"

"I think she's got his cheeks but I think she has your nose and mouth. If I'm being honest, I hope she has your eyes."

"Me too."

The garage door opens. "What's going on?" he asks.

"Just looking at your baby book."

"Mom, why did you bring that?"

"Because I thought Maya should see it."

He comes up behind me as I continue to look through the book. I look up at him, "Where's yours? I want to see it."

"I don't know probably at my parent's house."

"I'm texting your mom so she brings it."

"Go for it."

He looks at it with me, "You were a cute baby."

"Thanks."

He lets me be as I continue to look through the book. I've always wanted to do this. I'm so glad Alecia brought this.

Christian passes me as I sit on the edge of our bed with my bottle of lotion. "Need help?"

"Maybe," I tell him as I rub the lotion into my stretched skin.

"Give me a minute."

I feel her move under my hands. I feel that she'll be here any day. I hope she comes soon. My body hurts and is exhausted. I want to hold her in my arms and snuggle with her.

"What time is your game?"

"7:10. Do you want to go?"

"I want to go but I don't know if I should."

"Why's that?"

"It's a lot of time sitting in one spot."

"You're just going to sit on the couch or lay in bed if you don't go."

I look down at him, "I would find something to do."

"Like go through her room for the third time."

"Look, you don't get it. I'm preparing and making it easy for us. I'm nesting."

He holds his hands on either side of me, "I know. It's cute."

He closes the bottle of lotion, "Thank you."
